SCAN computer shop
Yesterday Richard bought one of those little Acer laptop things from pc world for £200 so today he decided we where going to go to SCAN in Horwich, has anyone ever been to this shop? i was gobsmacked at how cheap everything is in there, if you havent been i would recommend taking a look at their website and comparing prices from other shops with their things
Scan Computers UK: Computer Hardware - All ok some of you may know other places that are cheaper, but i was astounded at some of the cheap prices |
Re: SCAN computer shop
Just be prepared to join the queue if you do go :)

Re: SCAN computer shop
And you might have fun should you want to take something back with a not so straight forward fault.
I had a problem with one of the tech guys, he was not really interested in the fault I was explaining and his attitude was terrible for someone who deals with customers. The guy who helped me the second time I went back was excellant and sorted the problem out - is turned out to be a poor quality motherboard in the end - 1st time I have had trouble with a Gigabyte board. |

Re: SCAN computer shop
we went at 1 and it was quiet
but apart from the queues you two think the shop is ok??? |
Re: SCAN computer shop
Yes, as long as you don't have to return stuff. Don't get me wrong if you take back an MP3 player and it does not work they will replace it no problem. Mine was a CPU and Motherboard that were over heating. Were are talking board running up to 70 c and the CPU going above 100 c. The first guy was not really interested in finding out why.

Re: SCAN computer shop
I've bought loads of stuff from Scan and I love the place. Better when you know exactly what you want and you can have it delivered though... otherwise it is just a nightmare queueing up.

Re: SCAN computer shop
Scan - recommended to me from a bloke working at PC world :D
|
Re: SCAN computer shop
i use scan a lot and i recomend them to others but i also tell people to beware as a few times i have had retuned stock sold to me as new and also had retuned stock sold to me that hadnt been checked properly and was faulty which meant me traveling back to bolton to return the items
one more thing is that scan charge a minimum £10 to deliver an item so its not always cost effective to buy from them and you are just as well buying from as much as it pains me to say this PC world scan is ok if you are going to be building a complete system but for individual items you are just as well buying localy as by teh time you have paid for fuel to get to scan or their delivery charges its often the same price to shop localy and you get your item faster dabs.com is good and they sell returned stock at a discounted price and it is checked before resold but no longer have a trade counter so its mail order only |
Re: SCAN computer shop
i see what your saying about the £10 charge for delivery, but if you need a lot of items then surely it will be worth paying the tenner for the delivery?

Re: SCAN computer shop
