I can never understand why some let you and others don't, them that don't say it interferes with the electrical system on the plane, yet it's Ok with another airline
Singapore airlines let you use a laptop and you can connect your mobile to it and surf the net at 38,000 feet

All down to onboard software I think:confused::confused:

Developed by inflight communications specialist OnAir, Mobile OnAir uses advanced lightweight onboard technology to allow passengers to make and receive calls, exchange SMS messages and connect to e-mail via satellite broadband links and a ground network to be supplied by OnAir’s telecoms infrastructure partner, Monaco Telecom.

A sad day!!:hidewall:

Wonder if themobile operators will introduce a special "air tariff" at £5 a minute or something

cashman 24-09-2008 19:46

at least you won't have to listen to teh constant adverts for their seriously overpriced drinks, food, perfume, scratchcards, teddy bears etc!

There is no real reason why they should interfere, all good electronics would be screened anyway. whether you get a lock on a base station at 38K feet over teh atlantic...... :D

Re: Oh Joy

i cant wait until it comes on the news that a plane crashed because somone got air rage and threw the phone out of the window

mind you it would eliminate the need for theblack box as in true fashion everyone would be recording their crash on their phones and if they act fast enough could actualy get teh crash on utube before the news
