Camera repairs
I have a Fuji FinePix S6500fd Digital Camera and it's completely stopped working.
I dropped it!!!!! Anyway, does anyone know anywhere that repairs them? |
Re: Camera repairs
Does garth dawsons not still mend them or even send them somewhere?
|
Re: Camera repairs
It is very unlikely that an economical repair can be carried out......you have probably damaged the sensor.....whic renders the camera useless(or so I was told).
I did the same thing with mine just about a year ago.....I was gutted when i submitted the camera for assessment and was told it was not economical to repair it. I loved that little camera. I had accidental damage cover in my house insurance and so i claimed on that. |
Re: Camera repairs
Send it to the Fuji repair centre, thats all Garth Dawsons will do

Re: Camera repairs
The problem with sending it away, is that they will charge to look at it and then maybe tell you that a repair is uneconomical. Save your money and put it towards a new one.

fuji don't charge for looking at them

Re: Camera repairs
That is something then......Nikon would have charged £40 for telling me what I already knew......the camera was toast!

Re: Camera repairs
unless they have changed their ways recently, they used to give free quotes when out of warranty, they used ty give a good trade in price too

Re: Camera repairs
Well my camera died just a year ago and I sought out the info then, and that was what I was told by an independent camera retailer in Harrogate.......I was there on a weekend break and was looking at cameras to replace the broken one. I told the chap what had happened to my camera and he told me that they(Nikon) charged to look at faulty cameras, but, that if the camera were repairable they would deduct the cost of the inspection from the repair

Re: Camera repairs
Roy you are a smart ass.
I searched in Google for "nikon camera repair assessment". The 3rd link in the list was this thread :D |
