Me too especially with cloth seats, leather seem to be OK, trick is when you open the door, touch the metal before you put your foot out on the floor, you don't get them then, takes a while to get into the habit of doing it.

Thats a neat trick, I thought levitation was science fiction.

KSH...the handle inside the car isn't a problem...it is plastic.....it is when I touch either the metal body of the car or the outside handle that I have a problem.

What a strange piece of advice? If she had come on saying she burned her hand putting it in the fire would you also advise her to do that again?

Although there probably is nothing wrong with her computer and it possibly is only static, encouraging someone to risk, another electric shock is not the way to see if something really is safe.

For safetys sake never risk any form of electrical shock and always have any suspect equipment checked by someone qualified.

:)

Especially the car doors.

Me too Margaret, used to have an old twin tub washer that I got a shock off everytime I used it, nobody else did :( Not funny at all

I appreciate these constructive comments.
I have only ever experienced static shocks before when removing nylon underwear.
I wear cotton only nowadays. I was wearing a cotton nightie and terry towelling cotton dressing gown when I experienced that mild shock. Although my fluffy slippers are synthetic.

It was a tingle that didn't extend beyond my fingers so, since many people get it, I have decided to diagnose it as static only.

I haven't plugged in that PC tower since then, but intend to.

Yeah same here, it's not the inside handle that gives me the shock it when I've got out and am closing the door, so once you have opened the door and are ready for getting out, touch the metal part of the door before you put your foot on the floor - try it, it works
