Search Engine

Just found this search engine, Gigablast http://www.gigablast.com/

had a quick play with it & it does seem to have some good points to it, one thing that made a nice change was putting in accringtonweb & actually being taken to a description about, would you believe, accringtonweb!

I think I will stick to google!

I upgraded my MSN Messenger over the weekend, and narrowly avoided installing the crap that comes with it (toolbars, and changing my homepage, etc).

You really need to be careful when installing anything these days. I steer clear of toolbars - if I want to search for something, I click on the kennel and it takes me to my homepage, and you can open tabbed pages with Firefox. Very handy feature!!!

I know just what you mean vorlon.
However, the search engine that I described seems to be just that, a search engine. If like me you do search the web quite alot & my first choice for this has for a long time always been GOOGLE, sometimes even they can fail to give the information you want so having an alternative can be handy, I have only found gigablast recently & it seems o.k. just wanted other peoples opinions about it. :)

Don't know what you mean, My box only instals what I say, no more no less. Oh and peopel don't try to 'bundle' a load of crap in with other stuff.

But Vorlon, If you are using Firefox it has a google search built in,(and ebay and Yahoo and etc)

Right click open in new tab, the most useful option ever. Let Firefox download the pages you want in the background whilst you read the page you are on.

Re: Search Engine

Maybe I do it the long way round then.

I do CTRL-T, then hit the kennel and then search (I have the original google as my homepage - not the firefox one)

Re: Search Engine

Do you not have the google search bar in the top right, next to the Go button?
