Re: Kinect or Nintendo Wii

kinect is more acurate and more responsive but for the kids and family fun the wii is the better option simply because there are more games for the wii that are for kids.Kinict is better though because like i already said it is more responsive, acurate and you dont need to hold a controler for example when boxing it just follows your hands.

heres a youtube vid of some guys doing the sports package. No controlers just run on the spot like mad lol

YouTube - Kinect Sports

got the kinect for the lads for xmas and so far i have resisted temptation to test it out lol

Kinect
There are no controllers needed for Kinect, or rather, the only controller you need is you. That's the magic of it. If you want to drive a car, you put your hands on an imaginary steering wheel. You want to shoot a gun, you make like you used to with your finger when you were in the playground. You want to do the Funky Chicken...you get the point.

Of course, that does mean that you actually need to run furiously up and down on the spot in athletics games. Have fun with that.

She is a member on here and was giving her honest opinion when I asked. I was not after buying one either but I do think she would have said wait while they sort it out if there were problems with it.

i would have gone with the kinect as well ... i read an article somewhere a few month ago that said doctors and hospitals had seen more cases of RSI over the last 6 months from people using a wii and the controllers ...

Re: Kinect or Nintendo Wii

Got the Wii & Wii Fit + for the mrs. She likes it and daughter 8 loves it.

Had a go on the Kinnect yesterday, cleaver piece of kit, I personally would get the wii as there as loads more games for it at lower prices and wait for the kinnect to become more popular so more games will be out and second hand games also more available.

Haven't been on for a while & have just spotted this thread!

I'm the manager in question and can quite honestly say that if I think a game or product is rubbish - I will tell my customer that! I also train my staff the same way, ask questions and give your honest opinion - what's the point in recommending a product that you know the customer won't like or doesn't suit their needs? It may put money in the till, but it's not going to win you any customer loyalty, which is the most important factor to me.

Anyone coming into my store gets total honesty and my regular customers appreciate that! We also have demo days where you can come in and try out the new technology for yourself, so you don't just take our word for it!

Re: Kinect or Nintendo Wii

the kinect is way much better than the wii but unless you have a large area to play in it will be difficult to play two player comfortably without banging into furniture or each other.I have a large living room and still struggle after moving all the furniture against the walls. If i still lived in my terraced house i would not have bought one :)

edit:

also if somone walks into the room it starts to scan them and it can be annoyong if ithappens mid game

Yep, that's the only downside to it - I got a TV mount as we were struggling to get 2 people on and it has improved it :)

yeah i had to put a small shelf up for the sensor as teh tv was too thin to put it on top.You woudl think they wouldhave provided a clip or somthing for slim tv's

one thing i noticed missing was the option to scan things like your own skateboard into a game which was highlighted when it was known as project natal but iv read they have disabled the feature for now to work out the bugs then will be re-enableing it at a later date probably with an update through xbox live

xbox 360 mainly targets teenagers and adults so i cant see there been too many games made directed at the younger kids
