it just goes to show you what a disease alcholisim is...in his day gazza was a fine footie player ,who like best if they had of stayed of the sause ,could have done football, the fans and their respective countries proud .....
sounds a bit rich coming from a northern irish person who's partial to a gargle himself!!

yea you usually find that with drinkers ,they seem on the ball when you're with them good fun the life and soul and all that...but 'sometimes that good fun that friendliness is just a front hiding something more sinister ..then they get home and knock the bag outa their their wifes and such ..

Paul Gascoigne was arrested by police today for allegedly punching a photographer hours after a reported relapse into drinking brought his 39-day managerial career to an abrupt end.
Steve Farrell, a freelance photographer, called police after being assaulted outside the Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool by the former England footballer.
Farrell needed treatment for a cut eye after he was punched in the face. "His mates pulled him off and the worst thing was, Gazza just started laughing hysterically. He seemed to think it was hilarious," he said.

Sorry but you can't compare the two, Gascoigne never had half the talent (or charm) that George Best had. Yea, George made mistakes but if he was half as bad as some of the press liked to make out would both his ex-wives have been at his funeral - I don't think so.

can we all please remember that first and foremost George Best was the greatest professional footballer of all time - NOT a professional 'lager lout' that you all make him out to be, and his personal life is none of our business.
judging on the only thing we can realy debate about, the football (because no one has seen either person's personal life) george best was a one off and i doubt no one will ever match his pure natural talent. Gazza was a great footballer but we cannot compare the two as the game was totally different in George's day.

I'm looking forward to Gazza's State Funeral in Newcastle in ten years time. Lets hope it does not rain, like it did in Belfast on saturday.

Gazza wont be a great loss. He will never learn and is as exciting as a blank piece of paper. He seems to think he is able to do anything because of who heis/was. Hope he just disappears now.
