Big Sam Sacked

Newcastle have parted company with Sam Allardyce.
This is the eighth Premier league manager to leave their club this season. Is this proof that money really is totally ruining top flight football? No place for loyalty with results driven power mad big money investors.

one word.....

PATHETIC

Re: Big Sam Sacked

far too quick IMHO

He inherited a buch of overpaid slackers and wasters and hasn't been given teh chance to get shut and build a team like he did at Bolton.

Still with a reputed £5m in his back sack for 6 months work.........

newcastle always think they are a bigger club than they really are.they will probably end up like leeds:rolleyes:

Re: Big Sam Sacked

Has Michael Owen now had more managers at one club than he has played games for them :D

Re: Big Sam Sacked

Pathetic They still think its 1996 in newcastle and still a top 2 team they should have gone to specsavers the lot of them

Re: Big Sam Sacked

I'm surprised he left Bolton in the first place, if he felt he needed a challenge then he's bitten off more he could chew as Newcastle are nowt to get in a flap about anyway.

But as for 5 million quid if true, then good luck to him at least he'll leave coined up.

Re: Big Sam Sacked

Allardyce has spent a lot of money at Newcastle and the majority of that team are his signings. While I agree that there are too many managers losing their jobs too easily, I can see the thinking behind this latest sacking.

Question is how long will the next manager last?, not long I'll bet.

been looking at the "odds" n shearer is 2nd favourite, love the guy,but that is totally stupid to me.

entwisi 10-01-2008 06:42

Re: Big Sam Sacked

He won't take it as he can't win with it. Newcastle are just not good enough and at the moment he's a god up there, go there and fail and he loses it all.

Plus does he need it? I doubt he is short of a bob or three

shakermaker 10-01-2008 07:50

Re: Big Sam Sacked

Shearer has pretty much ruled himself out, claims he's happy with his MotD job.
Don't blaim him one bit.

How about Martin Jol?
He has good experience of working with an over funded nowhere club.

Re: Big Sam Sacked

Agree newcastle think they are a better team than they are. However if they want to get back to that "at any costs" then do a chelsea. Just spend a LOT of money on players and hope you get the rewards. I think most young players nowadays if asked "whats the team you want to play for" would say Man U ,Chelsea, Arsenal maybe Liverpool...not Newcastle.

They`ll probably get someone like Steve McLaren (HAHA), give him 6 months and no money and then he`ll be out on his ear.

Re: Big Sam Sacked

my view is that any manager who at the moment has a good job, would have rocks in his head to take on Newcastle with their track record, either that or be a greedy git, as Harry Rednapp apparently wasn,t, its better suited to some out of work guy (morinho) maybe cos they aint got owt to lose.;)

Keegan taking Newcastle job is great news for me, a certain fergie takes great joy from winding the little man up, and usually with extremely funny results. Can't wait!

cashman 16-01-2008 22:27

Re: Big Sam Sacked

i aint convinced with the guy, could not take pressure at newcastle or as England boss, geordies played good football under him, but his defensive tactics left a lot to be desired. and he had MONEY, unlike Mr Coleman.
