Re: Euro 2004

Re: Euro 2004

hing bout england is...we can be crap, or one of the best teams in the world, depending what mood were in.

Bazf 09-04-2004 16:40

Re: Euro 2004

:rose8: It would be great to win it but how would the Sun and Mirror and all the other clap trap papers be able to knock the Team, manager, FA, Captain, M Owen etc.... I think we will win and with the best team out could beat anyone around, not beating a team in a friendly doesnt mean a great deal and at least we are discussing the chance of winning imagine if you had to support Scotland or Wales!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Euro 2004

The England squad dont play as a team. When was the last time you saw a goal scored by England through teamwork?

Not only that, we have no defence left. Ferdinand banned. Brown held back! Relying on old campbell and a few newbies who make loads of mistakes cos they cant stand the pressure.

Re: Euro 2004

Good point, except they are all good individuals. Dont mean they work together well tough.

Bazf 11-04-2004 15:02

Re: Euro 2004

:rose8: Just to off set all our really good players we have Clamity James in goal.

AnthonyS 12-04-2004 11:51

Re: Euro 2004

Well said!

Re: Euro 2004

Yep robinson better or soon cudicini will be able 2 play after 5 years in our country

SuperAccyStan 12-04-2004 12:28

Re: Euro 2004

It's possible to have a good defence. Erikson changes it alot in friendlies to give players experience but we have the likes of John Terry, Gareth Southgate, Wayne Bridge...

Bazf 12-04-2004 18:33

Re: Euro 2004

:rose8: After what Ive seen in the prem this year it looks like no one is stepping up for the Goalie postion, I may be biased but Chris Kirkland looks the best and I cant see us going to Portugal with Clamity between the sticks. Cudicini has already played for Italy.

Re: Euro 2004

Lets get Seaman back

Tealeaf 14-04-2004 09:41

Re: Euro 2004

England will possibly get through the quarter finals...but no further than the semis. As for Seaman, my goldfish is a better goalie

AnthonyS 14-04-2004 20:59

Re: Euro 2004

Is your goldfish english? If it is, get it in there. Trust it better than James!

Re: Euro 2004

There was even a Rovers player on the bench a cretin, sorry certain A Cole.:)

Mik Dickinson 14-04-2004 21:35

Re: Euro 2004

Alas Bazf one finds it difficult to talk with one so biased on certain football terms. After all the results in the last 3 years for teh English National team speak for themselves. The last time they had a run like this they won the world cup

AnthonyS 14-04-2004 22:06

Re: Euro 2004

So you think we'll win then?

Mik Dickinson 15-04-2004 09:22

Re: Euro 2004

Aye one lives and hopes.I had to wait a while for sucesss against the German teams. It started off with Utd beating Bryan Münich and then the German National team taking a pasting off us.Oh god i loved them ones i was ecstatic

AnthonyS 15-04-2004 22:33

Re: Euro 2004

Looks like Romania did exactly the same thing last night!

Mik Dickinson 29-04-2004 21:12

Re: Euro 2004

Aye they did but it did not hurt the Germans much as it was not on home soil.

Tealeaf 13-05-2004 12:35

Re: Euro 2004

Just been reading the latest FIFA rankings....England are now =12th....with Cameroon! The US, by the way, is 8th! Are we PATHETIC or not?

Mik Dickinson 13-05-2004 15:22

Re: Euro 2004

I do believe that it all comes down to the actual success in international tournaments and we have not had any great success in them of late.

Tealeaf 13-05-2004 15:28

Re: Euro 2004

Exactly........so where is there cause for optimism in Euro 04?

savo is back. 13-05-2004 17:11

Re: Euro 2004

I don't think we've got the squad to do it! We've got an average back four with no outright leader in it, a dodgy keeper who was relegated last year, no natural left sided mid-fielder, and no back up for an out of form number 10 and a petulant teenager up front( who is our only real chance of doing something). Don't get me wrong i would love to see england win it, but i don't think we're a match for the french, italians or the Czech republic. :D

Bazf 14-05-2004 22:03

Re: Euro 2004

:rose8: All we need is a good run in the league section then its one off games, look at all the cups sometimes you get the luck and before you know its the 1/4 finals and then I think they could beat most teams.
The problem will be not letting the press put them off, draw against someone and its everybodys fault win and you can bet the Sun and the Mirror predicted it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets hope its the on field antics that get the press.

Tealeaf 15-05-2004 18:02

Re: Euro 2004

Will the Mirror still be in business by June?

Bazf 15-05-2004 20:17

Re: Euro 2004

:rose8: Hope not, but like another thread on the Stanley board about the Observer throw enough s*it and some of it will stick, looks like the Mirrors good at that.
