I am in shock

BBC NEWS | England | Manchester | CCTV shows fans chasing police

What absolutely disgusting behaviour!

Every single one of them should be tracked down and prosecuted.

only in regards to the genuine fans caught up in it - but the police in that situation are not there to seperate whos fighting with them and whos trying to get out the way - pretty much like those 'innocent' england fans who get battered in the foreign countries when yob elemant of the england support start to chuck things about streets at the local police -which is always well documented -
I am not trying to score points here - merely making the comparison.

I agree 120% but unfortunately you will always have the minority looking to cause trouble..

There were no 'innocents' in the attack against the policeman where he was tripped up and set upon, like animals.

The innocents were the people of Manchester having to put up with their city being destroyed. Any supporters that werent wanting to cause a riot would have been well hidden away, and rightly so. I have been in Manchester in a car, when its kicked off and a crowd of a few thousand have rushed the police like that, metres from where I was with my newborn. I have never been so scared in my life. Thankfully the police led them in a different direction (basically getting them out of the centre and the public).

Beats me how 'humans' can act like this because they lost a match

Sorry Glasgowguy, That post came out quite harshly, I am 100% positive that theyre will be many Rangers fans hugely disappointed and as disgusted as the rest of us that all this occurred

dont worry about it - you are correct in what you say about being disgusted - and it wasnt cos they lost the match - it all started cos the big screen broke down and couldnt show the match - which makes it even sadder.
the way to have solved it would to have had no drink in the fan zones - they only allowed no bottles in which I though was wrong cos you could take cans, so you would not have had 10,000 fans sitting all day with umpteen cases of beer waiting 8 hours for a match to start if alchohol was banned for the designated areas.
but hindsights a wonderful thing.

Most people wouldn't check the sports section for news about violent attacks on the police. No doubt it would've been on the main pages of the news papers rather than the sports section too?

i know there was some rangers supporters there but the fact that at least 300 people from i dont know where ie manc cockneys or who they were appeared from know where. all through the night there baton charges on innocent people i think the gmp under estimated how many people were going to arrive in todays manchester eveining news they are saying it was up to 200,000 which doesnt surprise me cause you couldnt move...we were having a sing song after the match minding our own business when they just randomly attacked everybody in sight i know its no excuse but there was a bit of provocation.
