Would like to see Croatia win it because they always seem comfortable with the ball and play good football.Sadly think France Or Italy will win it.

Well i couldn`t chose one so i did a pull one out of the hat and follow whoever it was, and i pulled out Greece so i`ll be routing for them, but i think Croatia could be in with a good chance, but i suspect it will be one of the favourites that will win it.

I tried watching the 2 games today, but just couldn't summon the level of interest required to keep watching. I think I'm tired of football.

Have to agree a little TM concerning the First match, kept flicking over and watching Dads Army:eek:

Enjoyed the second one more, although I wanted Turkey to win

Thinks it could be a pick and a choose philosphy for some games

I managed the first one TM but I lost the will to live after that and desided the movie channel was the better bet:rolleyes:

Re: Euro 2008

Trying to watch the Russia vs Holland game, but the picture on ITV is absolute rubbish. Added to that, ITV aren't providing a HD transmission for some strange reason.
The Portugal game was equally poorly transmitted too, plus I had David Pleat talking crap.

ITV should be banned from covering sport until they can prove that they can do it properly!

It depends what you're watching on. Other forums are filled with posts about the poor quality of ITV's picture.

Probably depends in which part of Darkest Lancashire you live TM, my ITV picture in Ossy is okay, yet Channel five is awful and I can get it on freeview either, if I want to watch Five I have to use Sky

Re: Euro 2008

Reception over here is great, it,s on two channels, no ads and English commentators. So who,s going to get the final semi spot? I think Italy will scrape through but don,t care as long as it,s not a boring affair, or should I say game, I don,t think there is such a thing as a "boring affair"!!!

I haven't used terrestrial for a long time, so I can't comment on it. I always watch through digital satellite, so locality isn't really important. If I compare the ITV quality to tonight's BBC offering, then it's like night and day. It's all to do with the quality of the ITV transmission.

Re: Euro 2008

A rubbish game but glad Spain went through, at least it will make a better semi.

Oh sorry TM I thought you were on about the picture not the presentation, must say I agree with you on that score, I'd rather have BBC or Sky Sports anyday

I was talking about the picture quality. ITV have actually admitted that their transmission quality is poor via satellite compared to BBC and other stations, mainly due to the amount of channels they have coming through a limited amount of space. With 4 ITV channels (plus regional variations), plus all those pointless +1 channels now too, the bitrate of their transmission is reduced. Thankfully the BBC have the final tonight, so I won't have to watch any ITV again until the World Cup in 2 years time. :D
