Re: Predictions

well seen as how I am scottish I may as well go along with what you will think I am going to say - 2-1 to france - but in saying that france are always late starters in most tourneys, they nearly got knocked out of the last world cup due to a sluggish start so you may have a chance in that respect - and before you all start with the 'who are scotland playing ?' stuff - I aint a scotland fan, never have been -
I know they are crap ! - dont need other folk to tell me !
must dig out my switzerland top for footy training !!

Re: Predictions

Hey Glasgow guy what do you call the Scottish squad in the Euro 2004
1. Referee
2.Linesman
3.Linesman

glasgow guy 13-06-2004 22:57

Re: Predictions

I have actually heard that on before mik ! - but it doesnt bother me cos I aint a scotland fan ! - I know they are crap !!
For a (ahem) neutral like me it was a good game to watch but some of the commentry was a bit much at times but the best line of the whole night for me was Mr Clive Tyldesly saying " you cant score that - we were going to have street partys & celebrate "
theres always the swiss !

Re: Predictions

Shocking defeat, a prime example of throwing a game away.

Re: Predictions

Here's my prediction...The England team will arrive at Heathrow Airport tuesday 22nd June. Beckham will be dismissed the Captaincy (he should'nt even be in the team) and Sven will get his P45.

Whose decision was it for Beckham to take the penalty? Beckhams. What is his record in penalty taking for England in competitive matches? Its 100% - failure. This man is a disgrace to the England shirt.

Well, at least we'll get back to normal, especially on the roads. Has anyone else noticed all those Chinese-made X of St Georges, so limply fluttering from the sides of Audi's, Volkswagens, Renaults, Toyota's etc are'nt appearing in the same number as last week? This flag-flying buffoonary is coming to a premature (but not unexpected) end....odd though - I've never seen the flag flying from a Jag or an MG...funny that, innit?

Re: Predictions

Oh! T you disappoint me.Its a fact that England have never ever won their opening game in an E.M. at all.All we have to do now is beat the Swiss and the Croations and we are through. After watching their game i see no problem.Gerrard should have kicked that ball so far out of the stadium that it was found on the Spanish Border!

Tealeaf 14-06-2004 13:26

Re: Predictions

Mik, how many times have we got beyond the group stage? Once....we should be ashamed of ourselves.

Mik Dickinson 14-06-2004 13:30

Re: Predictions

T if you were taking all this crap as i have to take it today you would be hoping as well.Come on the Dutch or any team that is up against the Germans.3-1 against the Swiss( my bosses nationality) and then 2-0 against the Croatians.6 points and through to the next round Dead easy on paper

Tealeaf 14-06-2004 13:33

Re: Predictions

Just a shame then, that Beckham can't read.

Mik Dickinson 14-06-2004 13:40

Re: Predictions

must be able too T. i just sent him a text LOL!

Tealeaf 14-06-2004 13:46

Re: Predictions

So you've been in bed with him as well?

Here's the results for the rest of our group:

Croatia 2 France 1
England 3 Switzerland 1
Croatia 1 England 0
France 5 Switzerland 1

Oh.....Holland 2 Germany 0

Mik Dickinson 14-06-2004 14:10

Re: Predictions

Ok even if it turns out like that T, just so long as the Germans do not qualify.Could we not make it Holland 3-0.
Or even better:-
Accy Stanley 5 - Germany 1

Tealeaf 14-06-2004 14:22

Re: Predictions

It's a nice thought....you would have to be ref, mind.

Bazf 14-06-2004 16:01

Re: Predictions

:rose8: I try to be up beat then along comes England and does what it does in every competion its ever entered, screws it up, I think its time we made it compulsory that all football players have to be at least above the Remedial level at school before they are allowed to kick a ball in anger

Tealeaf 14-06-2004 16:21

Re: Predictions

Thats the Golden Rule with English footy, Bas...and it has been since 1970. Unfortunatly there are'nt many people who can seperate the hype from the reality, the hype being we have the talent & leadership to win this tournament, the reality being that we're underskilled and poorly led and we don't stand a cat in hells chance. However, there is the wider issue as to how it's got to this and what we're going to do about it which involves ditching the self-delusion and starting some serious introspection.

Re: Predictions

Yet again, in their own inimitable fashion, England snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
