You would have thought the lure of Premiership management plus the challenge of keeping Burnley up would have won the day.

It's a bit like Wynonie being the Manchester Utd manager and being approached by Accrington Stanley, we know which one he would choose.

I'm hoping it's all a smoke screen by Celtic why they appoint the one they really want:(

Can't understand why they would want him to be honest. Surely their target is European glory rather than the annual 2 horse race in the SPL. For that they need a manager who has been around Europe a bit and more importantly is known worldwide to attract the players required. To me Bilic would be the best choice.

Re: Owen Coyle

Owen Coyle has turned down a £1million-a-year move to childhood heroes Celtic - and will stay with Premier League new boys Burnley.
Coyle was the first-choice replacement for Gordon Strachan but despite frantic behind-the-scenes efforts he is going with his gut feeling and carrying on with the Clarets.
Last night Coyle said: "I am going on holiday with my family this weekend and I can assure you I will be doing so as Burnley manager."
Miracle-worker Coyle could have quadrupled his wages with a move to his favourite club, but he is set to be rewarded with a massive pay hike at Turf Moor shortly.
Celtic have been chasing Coyle since Strachan walked out at the weekend but the Gorbals-bred manager thinks he is better off with Burnley.

A Clarets spokesman said they had received no official approach for their manager, and added: "Nor will the club welcome any."
Incredibly Burnley will have more money to spend next season than Celtic, with a hefty slice of the £30m-plus Premier League money going to the Clarets Messiah.
Coyle intends to bring in five or six new faces and thinks he can progress with them and eventually fulfil his long-term ambitions of a move to a topfour club.
Coyle's decision will come as a major blow for Celtic, who could now switch interest to West Brom's Tony Mowbray. However his £1m compensation figure is putting them off.
The Parkhead club have to qualify to reach the Champions League next season and now are counting the pennies - and the cost of losing out on the SPL title.

Don't tink they'll have to much to spend downt Turf dave, well not according to an interview I heard with Barry Kilby where he said that £60 million would see Burnley right for 10 years
