Football Supporters? This Isn't what we need

I was in a downtown Accy pub today, the staff were putting up posters for Sunday, It seems that the Police have advised them that they can only open so long as every entrance has at least two bouncers, any entrance with no bouncers has to be closed so that:-

Blackburn & Burnley Supporters can't cause any trouble in the town.

Isn't it about time that ordinary folk that want a quiet drink shouldn't have to put up with this kind of action?

Football is a Sport, a game not a life or death thing, Please, Please, for the rest of us, be a little mature and behave yourselves, prove the Police wrong, no matter what the score, I'm sure you're team will have tried their best, so don't make life awkward for the rest of us.

any crime commited over football shoudl have the standard penalty plus an extra 5 years added for been stupid enough to fight over a game of football, fines should be increased 10 fold for offences relating to football as well

oh and banned from every town center pub and football ground for life

Sorry Wynonie you can't change a lifetime, you can't exactly blame people from this area for supporting clubs outside Accy, after all there was nothing to support for 30 years and kids have grown up without Stanley. Even though I'm a Rover, I think I've done my bit to help and do take a lot of interest in whats happening at the Crown, both on and off the field, but first and foremost I'll be a Rovers fan until I die.

You live in Ossy so I might let you off. ;) The best sort of Rovers supporter is Cashy - season ticket holder at Stanley!

If you stuck to your "in-town" team instead, it might have a better chance of paying its bills on time.

Read in the Observer that the Calder are only serving Burnley fans/supporters, are these sort of statements not going to stir things up? It is like saying the Blackburn lot are the trouble makers IMO.
When I worked at Rishton Con they played a couple of times, it was made clear that no trouble would be tolerated and there was none. Segregating fans is not the answer.

this is happening because the worry for accrington pubs has been caused by the fact that well known nutters from burnley have arrived in accrington the last two times the clubs have played a derby game.its not for anything that the burnley and rovers fans from accy have ever done.both sets of fans know each other and get on fine without trouble. if other towns people will stay out of accy this time these mesures will not be needed in future.

Blimey, next time you go to Specsavers ask them for a little less of a blue & white tint :D

I used to frequent Accy in the late 70's ( no I wasn't one of the 2 who came over to cause trouble ), and even then there used to be regular punch up's between both sets of fans on a Saturday night, and that was when they weren't even playing against each other.

Both clubs ( indeed many clubs ) have idiot fans. They use football as a means of further proving that idiocy. 99% of football fans are will stick to the banter and enjoy the match, the other 1% will cause trouble, but then again they will do that on any night of the week under some other guise anyway.

The risk is Accy is greater simply because those idiots live in a town slap bang in the middle.

You will be telling us next that the recent reserve match was cancelled because of the 2 loonies you mentioned earlier. Think very carefully before you answer that one :)

First of all spignific is telling us Rovers fans are all sweet and innocent, now you are claiming the Accyweb Railway Research team are being classed as VIP's. The world is simply getting far too much like Fantasy Island :p

Now, now, Granny, you know perfectly well that I didn't mean you. You come from Burnley, so what could be more natural than to support the Clarets? Same applies to Dave. I'm talking about Accringtonians who don't have any loyalty towards their hometown team...and thanks for the tenner. :)

An example of what i was talking about is the burnley lot (a hell of a lot more than two) that fought police in the black horse after the last game at ewood.
of course some rovers have caused trouble too, including the derby games.in fact in the late 70's it was lads from blackburn that invaded accrington on way to turf moor.
i totally agree that all clubs will have some idiot fans.
i was just stating that the worry this time seemed to be that burnley fans might head accy way to watch the game due to them not having tickets for the game.thats dodgy ones or good fans.
i went to spexsavers today to make sure i can see the match from the fairly from blackburn end tomorrow :D

Hopefully, we will...but it wouldn't half help if a few more Accringtonians got their backsides up to the Crown more regularly.
