Would Hughes go back, or more to the point would the board re-appoint him ?

Re: B.f.s.

I can honestly say that the Football we have seen this season has been the most mind-numbingly boring that i have ever witnessed, and if something doesn't change soon Rovers ARE going down!! No easy run in for us this season, our last 4 home matches are, Chelsea, Man Utd, Everton, Arsenal !!...How many points do you think we are going to take from those, the way we are playing at the moment 1 would be optomistic!! Sam doesn't seem to see it....he still thinks we are creating lots of chances...well i'm afraid your the only one that thinks this Sam, even the defence has now turned to mush! so i'm seriously worried at the prospects now...Rovers need a change...but i cant see them having the balls to ditch him at this stage. Even the stuff he says to the press is gobbledegook...just makes little sense! If results dont pick up right away...the fans will turn on him ala Megson...be an interesting couple of weeks i think!

Best Regards - Taggy

Didn't think it was upto fans to pick a manager..however not many were in favour of Allardyce at any stage really! Its not whinging and moaning, its stating opinions, based on sticking my bum on a seat as a season ticket holder and wanting to watch an entertaining team playing some good football! No fan is going to be happy when things arnt going well....Burnley Fans and "Saint Owen" spring to mind! However, as much as it pains me to say it...at least the Dingles have been able to watch football played in the correct spirit, unlike the Dredge that Rovers Fans are having to put up with under Sam!

Quite Frankly providing the right bloke was appointed, to get Rovers playing entertaining football with plenty of spirit, i would rather they went down and were playing it in the Championship, and winning more games, than scrapping about, trying to kill all attempts at inventiveness and free flowing football, just for the sake of mixing it with the "Big Boys"....plenty of Burnley fans are already disillusioned at their sojourn into the premiership, and are saying they dont give a Monkeys if they are relegated! At least they can have some pride in knowing that they've tried to compete in the proper way....Rovers fans cant say that at the moment, which is rather sad!

Can't understand the thinking there dave, he's never managed in the Prem, as been in charge of Sheff Wed for 154 games won 52 drew 42 and lost 60, was sacked with Wednesday in the Championship relegation zone and have struggled nearly all the time he's been there, maybe his wages fit in with Kilby's thinking:rolleyes:

I seem to recall the 1st person to post on here about getting rid of Ince was yourself BR... I reckon it's you who needs to take the blinkers off..do you expect Rovers to be in the top half of the prem?

And if yer asking how many times I've been to Old Trafford I'd say around 80 between 1978-84 a few away games and 3 times at Wembley..United did'nt win Championships in them days!

Villa are a strong side, Rovers did create chances and could have scraped a draw..maybe concentrate on the prem.

Aint disputing that mancie, but yer never gonna take a decisive lead against a side as good as villa, playing 1 up front.

No not likely, at home you'd expect basic 4-4-2..seems 1 up front is fashionable with a lot of prem teams these days :(

why take the blinkers off ? iv'e supported rovers 30 years, iv'e paid many a few quid watchin em over them years, even in times when money has been tight, i am entitled to comment on the state of the team, the players the managers or who ever else that may be concerned with the club, as i have paid my dues and their wages over them said years,we as fans are blackburn rovers and are entitled to air our grievances towards individuals, be it managers or players !!!

Under hughes we played european football, finished in the top half year in year out, under the same restrictions we are under now, i think im more educated and entitled to express my opinion about rovers slightly more than you are, so yes i think i do "EXPECT" rovers to be in the top half of the premier league along with the mojority of rovers fans, not some plastic manc like i say !!!

though kalinic was good tonight, think its about time he got a start in the prem with a 4-4-2 formation, poss benni partnering him, he has a good eye for a pass and can hold play pretty well tbh, just needs decent service...we need a right winger, a left winger a striker and a strong central midfielder to play with dunny...reid was crap when he came on salgado is past it, n zonzi needs another season to beef up, emerton plays better at rb too !!

You started it :)..I'm not having a pop.. i'm saying it's ridiculous to call anyone plastic this or that when they pay money to watch the team they choose... if a thousand plastic Rovers fans turn up for the next game at Ewood or any other ground you ain't gonna turn em away... attractive football win or lose is what gets big gates.

I'd agree with that...which is why i feel Sam has to go...he's the reason why some folk couldn't be bothered turning up yesterday, people cant stand the type of football Rovers are playing under him!...Ya wouldn't still keep going to the same pub time and time again if they served rotten ale would you?...same applies to footy!...Fans would put up with it, if the team were consistently grinding out results, however thats not happening now is it! Its the Worst of both worlds at Rovers for the moment! If we dont beat Fulham on Sunday, i would be very surprised if Sam survived...certainly the fans will turn on him then!!

Second half display was an improvement on first half and game against ManC but David Platt probably had it right when he suggested at 0-1 down that a draw to take to Villa would be a result. Then scrape another draw and try to win on pens. Very BSF !! As Cashy said its all very negative atm down Ewood. Sam's papertalk is about making an impact signing (?). He could make a big impact on players and fans alike if he scarpered . The players don't seem to want to play for him, even his own signings don't measure up (Salgado, Herenveen, Kalinic) and the ones who did want to play for Rovers he got rid of (Derbyshire, Gally) and the best two strikers at the club are on the bench.

1st half usual dross, but 2nd half rovers were great..turning point.beat fulham (with back to the usual 21,000 there this time) and we are coming back..come on you blues :D

Well i'm off to the funny farm that passes as Ewood Park, again shortly, wonder what joys today will bring?....Bet the stubborn git still starts with one up front...apparently he's still going easy on Kallinic...doesn't want to dent his confidence....hows this lad ever going to score the goals that will give him confidence if he doesn't play him in games???....Could end up being the most confident lad in the Championship at this rate!!

If we dont beat Fulham, do you think they'll sack Sam...or are we stuck with him regardless???

The problem with Fulham they are one of those teams you look at and think it's 3 points. They are one of the most improved teams this season.

think they will stick wi him, least until end of season, he will have some credit fer last season i reckon.

Taggy 17-01-2010 11:04

Re: B.f.s.

Well i guess your all probably right there...Fulham under Hodgson are very hard to beat...however with the run in that Rovers have, this period is absolutely crucial in getting points on the board, if we dont string some good results together in Jan and Feb, then things will look grim...and it would be too late on to Sack Sam then! If we cant beat Fulham at home now...then the last 4 home games of Chelsea, Man Utd, Everton and Arsenal dont offer up much comfort do they?

Maybe Sam will get the credits because of last season, as you say Cashy, but did he really keep Rovers up...or was it just luck that there were 3 worse teams than us...and is that all that we are relying on again this season? As ive mentioned its the mindnumbingly boring football thats the real concern, surely the board must realise that when they see such a low turn out for the semi against villa...and the reason for that was purely down to Sams style of football!

Hopefully Rovers will beat Fulham, and take a bit of pressure off, but if they dont....i just have a "gut" feeling they will sack Sam...but as usual i'll probably be wrong!!;)

Well....!!...No i'd better not!!:D:D:D

Now then as i was staying earlier BFS IS A FOOTBALL GENIUS!!!! :D

At least he started with 2 up front today...think he knew he had to really, although both goals came from set pieces including Beni's miss hit corner, was a bit better performance but still not very creative and apart from the goals weren't many chances to speak of. Olsen was quite decent today, as was McCarthy, Nelsen and Hoilett when he came on as sub, we still need to take the game to teams more though and dominate them when we get a goal up, hopefully if they feel a bit more confident after a win, that might come...but i'm not getting carried away with this!! Bit of breathing space for the moment tho, and a nice start for Mr Coyle helps too!!:D

:thefinger:thefinger

loyal [ˈlɔɪəl]

2. faithful to one's country, government, etc.

[from Old French loial, leial, from Latin lēgālis legal]
loyally adv
loyalness n

If you reckon City's win over United was a "mauling" you really should watch football sometimes.

Well I think I can agree with you for once Mancie, the pen was a joke it as outside the area and if the Jackal hadn't been playing City wouldn't have scored if they'd played till Christmas

Rumour has it that BFS is planting Ewood with potatoes, so they'll have something to lift at the end of the season.

theres allways one, you only got to wembley via the back door love, and you will be leaving the premiership via the trap door

on a more serious note.....i htought we were brilliant tonight (defensive frailties aside), we played good attacking, passing football, so it amazes me that as we have played so well playing that system tonight BFS constantly uses negative tactics,no doubt back to normal against the pie eaters, 2 major mistakes cost us, 1 by the ref the other by samba, so what if agbonlahor scored ? (i know at the time he felt it was right and if he hadnt done it, id have been asking why he hadnt), but we woulda had 11 men on the pitch,(look what we did with 10) they never looked like being in it till the ref gifted them the 1st, anyway, twas a good effort and id rather go out like that than sittin back and gettin leathered !!!

onwards n upwards lads :D:mosher:

Two Semi finals decided by two pathetic refs decisions City's pen which was outside the box and Villas first goal allowed to stand even though Nelson was blatantly fouled in the build up:(

cashman 21-01-2010 08:31

Re: B.f.s.

great display, villas first was a joke, no good bitching though villa should have had a blatant penalty first leg, thats football, think down to 10 was biggest factor, n that was correct decision.

Out of interest, when did a Penalty become a Pen. A Pen is summit you write with, like a Biro isn't it.

Nearly all footballers call them a Pen, Bernard, especially ex footballers, and I see a lot of ex footballers on TV footy shows, which I have to be satisfied with now I can no longer go to matches:D In future, just in your honour I'll call them Biro's:D:p

Enjoyed the game last night. Never any prospect of reachin' the final but at least Rovers showed some spirit at last. Sending off and Dunn injury were bad blows but at least they didn't roll over.
