World Cup tshirts are racist!!!

Think this is funny ...

BBC News - Police fears over 'Anyone but England' T-shirt

A scottish shop is selling world cup tshirts with 'ABE' on them meaning Anyone but England .. and has had a visit from the police:

A company selling "Anyone but England" T-shirts for this year's World Cup has rejected suggestions it is racist after police in Aberdeen visited its store.

Police warned Slanj, which also has stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh, that a window display featuring the shirt could cause offence.
Grampian officers advised a store worker to consider whether the display was appropriate and should be removed.

but i do like this bit ... :D:D:D

"We have been selling this T-shirt for the past three months and we've had a great response.

"Even the English people who come into the store think it's a laugh and just a bit of tongue-in-cheek football banter.
"We're certainly not being racist. We are the same race as the English. It's just daft to say it's offensive."

What a cracking joke that is, we all know it's true, we laugh & joke about it with all the other sub races, (I'm being inclusive here), of the island and let's face it, it has a chance of becoming the most popular T-shirt ever bought depending on how far into the competition The England team get and the more Countries we knock out.

:D

This is the Jocks here using common sense (Grampian Police) "Could cause offence." not are offensive & "Consider whether" appropriate or not, well done the Jockanese for a sensible approach. A little more of this South of the Border perhaps ?

There's an idea, will make some t-shirts tomorrow and put them in the window. "I have a video camera and I'm not telling you my name". Wonder if I will get the same free publicity :D

So, if I came to the UK, and wore my tee which says (it doesn't really talk, but you know what I mean): "I Think, Therefore We Have Nothing in Common", a moron could claim he felt insulted:rolleyes:

I remeber that back in the 80s, during the first referendum on Quebec independence, a guy in Saskatoon made some immensely popular shirts with the logo: "If Quebec Separates, Make Them Take Toronto." Everyone thought it was a blast .... well everyone except the folks in TO, but who gives a flying you-know-what about them:tongueout

But I still don't get the whole pc thing ... the world is going to hell in a hand basket, and folks claim to be concerned about Mickey Mouse shlt like this .... c'mon, this is fiddling while the world as we know it is self-destructing.
