We achieved the impossible dream on a minimum wage. We could have spent more this season, would it have guaranteed staying in the Premier League... don't think so. For a club like ours it will take several years of yo-yoing to become a stable premier league club, if ever. You lot have managed it because you were there at the start when the money started piling in. Even Reading with all their money and a good manager didn't manage to stay there too long. I don't blame Laws, neither do I blame Kilby. When football goes tits up I know who I want as chairman of my football club :) |

I don't know, is it fair to balance the purse strings above ambition ? How about we ask the Portsmouth fans, or even worse the Chester fans, and don't forget to ask the fans of another local club round here, which did they prefer last November, survival or bust ? ;) |

Mind you its happen as well as God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Ghost are a bit busy at this time of year, and Burnley need a miracle:D:D

Re: Brian Laws OBE
I don't think that Burnley will sack him as it would cost them about £2M in compensation.

Re: Brian Laws OBE
Keep him in a job! Doing an excellent job.
Funny how people were saying their fans were excellent last night. Excellent fans don't leave after nine minutes LOL, and I seldom heard them last week. |
Re: Brian Laws OBE
Well thought I'd watch the Dingles for once as I don't usually give them the time of day(well they would come to see me if I was bad) glad I did really never laughed as much in my life, especially after the comments by The Lawman before kick off, three down in seven minutes, as Kevin Keegan said at half time probably he worst defending in premier league history, and can't disagree really, against the Rovers they played a flat back two, very badly, against City it was a flat back one. Can' see where they are going to pick up another point really, get beat by Hull next Saturday and its adios dingles:D

Re: Brian Laws OBE
What a first class achievement two clubs relegated in the same season, that Barry Kilby knew he had a potential star when he signed The Law Man, he'd have been better of with Clint Eastwood:D:D:D

Re: Brian Laws OBE
Understandably there is a Wake on the Sheffield Wednesday Forum.
Consistent with my forecast on this forum about 3 weeks ago I knew that the Stanley result yesterday was advanced cheer to prepare me for a pretty grim day. This is what I posted there: "For the second time we have gone back to where I started supporting the club in Oct 1975 with Messrs Burtenshaw Fox Potts and Prendergast. Plus ca change. At least we still have a football club. Back in October the Judge was about to stamp up the Revenue's winding up order on my other club when its benefactor stepped in to save it. No administration phase - 42 years' work resurrecting the Club would have been up the Swanny. Beat Chesterfield yesterday." |
