Maybe not stones, but a couple of smallish pebbles in light of my slips ! :D The point of it is, Effin & Jeffin will happen, it's a fact of life, how many times do you hear it on TV, down the Pub, at work, round the park ? Added to that some of them using it are kids as young as 6-7, let alone the older generation of professionals Male & Female, I myself am not averse to using offensive & abusive language at times.

But what Rooney did was in your face, pugnacious & intended to cause the maximum effect of reaction & as such he deserved to be punished & harshly. If you watch the footage you see him swear at the crowd (read the lips) that he'd have gotten away with as it's an everyday occurrence & you see it at many levels throughout the game but it wasn't directed at anyone in particular (Okay away fans) but it was lost on the crowd, but when he turned to look directly into the camera & repeat his epithet, then he crossed the line & action was bound to follow.

Ferguson has no room to bleat (at present serving a touchline ban) as you're aware Rooney has form & again Fergie isn't exactly whiter than white is he ? The expression lead by example comes to mind & if that's the case what example has fergie set ? Why hasn't he reigned Rooney in in the past ? No the lads an idiot & he's brought it on himself. Hopefully he'll learn his lesson & next time keep his mouth shut, failing that keep his "opinions" away from a camera.

Whats betting he gets the two match ban removed and replaced with a fine, surprise me if it isn't

If the other clubs can't stop them winning the Premiership - again, then the FA will certainly do their best to stop them.
May be a blessing in disguise for us - so 2 league matches out, but that means he will be fresh for the Champion's League matches - Champion's League Jay, realise you have never competed in that:rolleyes:, DinG's lot have though:D
No way you will be competing next year either Jay, might be in a fight to get out of the Championship, but then again, your lot could go into freefall:tongueout:tongueout:tongueout Is it the penultimate match when United could win the Premiership and Rovers could be relegated - that will be a match to watch;);):D:D

You cheeky sod:eek:, the scum have more matches given them by refs who are two frightened of upsetting that drunken Scots bloke, think they're usually good for 15 to 20 points a season, anyway looking forward to tonight's game, full house, passionate fans, a good unbiased ref and Lionel Messi too, should be a great match:tongueout:tongueout

But we won and again today, getting more and more certain it is United's Premiership to lose:tongueout - been a good week for Stanley too, perhaps we will hear someone blowing the Stanley trumpet before long - of course very unlikely we will hear a Rover's trumpet - maybe if they get in the Championship play-offs next season:eek::eek::D
C'mon then you Stanley fans, are they going to carry on and get into the play-offs, or are they going to fade - an extra 2 points today against a team quite a few places lower would have strengthened their position:rolleyes::D

Who knows? They certainly have the ability, but whether they do it or not is in the lap of the gods. Even if they don't make the play-offs, we'll be happy enough with our most successful season since the Galbraith era and guess what, Barrie?...not a writ in sight! It's great to see your hometown club do well.

Incidentally, Barrie, you'd have loved it in Piccadilly Gardens this afternoon. Plenty of plastics including some Japs, all dressed up like Christmas trees in nice, shiny new gear from the Theatre of Merchandising. That should help to pay off the debt!

After watching the Rovers game I reckon they did fight well and the end they were the better team...the no chance they will go down.. I'll say it again any success United get this season will be down to hard work.. same goes for Stanley.;)

Not at all, that is not what I said - just pointed out that most people - men, boys, women and girls - and children, use those words - and more than likely they heard their parents using them first - walk around town with your ears open:rolleyes:;):D

Also got the winning habit with his football teams - even before United.

Wyn, they come from all over the world on one of the hospitality packages - I can't afford one.

I really do hope that Stanley are successful and then in another year we will be able to see Stanley beating Rovers - either in the Championship or in League 1 - but if Rovers go into free-fall they could easily be in the league below Stanley:eek::eek::D
