Re: The invasion of blackpool
Lioved there '77 - '82 & 85 - '02, but I was working away and when home did most of my drinking in Cleveleys. During the season never went further into town than the Duke in the evenings, Washington or the one on Bonny St at lunchtimes.
As a teenager it was always the Fleece, Victoria, Mitre or the Grapes. The latter was great when my lads were in the Army, it was a military pub - then it became an Irish bar. Was actually in there when these two muppets came in with an IRA Collection Tin. There was a whip round to pay for the windows after they departed through them. |
Re: The invasion of blackpool
Went mitre (think?) castle pub behind -- coral island ,then george (further down road on corner) stanley pub ( dj and and dancing girls) ,foxhall ,manchester pub, ermmm one near the ground ,old swan or somat like that ??? ..then went match, left at half time because was i bored in a crap stand and turned out that no drinks served there at bloomfield road staduim..so drinks back at swan then after bloody aweful train home with some 'mental young idiots'. it was calder in accy, bay horse ossy, stop and rest -because its near my house ;)
