How things have changed, well some have

I got the history of Blackburn Rovers from 1907 to today, all in newspaper headlines and stories bound in leather, a really nice present. I had a quick flick through it and was interested in one story, it was FA Cup Sixth round tie on March 8th 1952 between Rovers and Burnley at Ewood
it was Rovers 3 Burnley 1 (not changed there then:D)

The attendance was 53000 the gate receipts were £8433,:eek: oh how some things have changed;)

Forget when they did away with the fixed wage for pro footballers, but I can remember Tommy Trinder saying I'll pay Johnnie Haynes £100 a week, he was the chairman of Fulham at the time

1961...the year after when Bob Lord was recommending closure to the Stanley directors, he said "it's all thanks to that comedian in London". :(
