So near yet ..........
Never mind lads, after all winning is not everything, but losing is nothing.:D
I believe it's the first time in 17 years since Manky U have failed to even win a cup. Still next years replica strip for all you plastic Manc's will be Blue and sponsored by Etihad.:D |
Re: So near yet ..........
The best bit was that City won the title in Fergie Time too, you couldn't make it up, all those plastics thinking they scooped another title then it was dragged out of their grasp and there was nothing old Red Nose could do about it, no use looking at his watch

Re: So near yet ..........
Well at least we have maintainted our dignity..
BBC Sport - Manchester United boss Ferguson congratulates City on title win Finished second on goal difference and 39 points ahead of Liverpool.. not a bad season by any stretch.:mosher: |
Re: So near yet ..........
Being a City fan, i thought i was going to need paramedics by the end.
I'm sure they will be the death of me. :D:D |

Cheers Mancie, close run season right down to the final whistle, just hope they can keep it up. :D

Re: So near yet ..........
Anybody see the antics of that nut job Joey Barton, he's definitely not wired up right, will be lucky if he plays before Christmas next season, and even more lucky if Hughesy doesn't sack him, he's a liability

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/983811-post249.htmlTell you what there are some great mechanics living around Manchester:D:D

Re: So near yet ..........
So now the dust has settled & it's all over bar the bitchin' & finger pointing, Manky U with nothing ? Most unusual, is this the start of a slow decline from the glory days of O.T. ?
I mean, ours was a poor season but at least we had 2 goes at stuff, but because of or recurring ineptitude we only got the one trophy. Think next season could be quite interesting. :) |
Re: So near yet ..........
As a complete neutral, I'm not too concerned about bitching between the two sets of supporters.
What I would say is that it was without doubt one of the most amazing pieces of football theatre I've ever seen. Unforgettable! |
Re: So near yet ..........
Interestingly, if City had won the Old Trafford derby by just 1 - 0 United would have won the league.
|
Re: So near yet ..........
United still have a trophy to play for - they have the final of the Lancashire Cup against the mighty Stanley to have a go at & after finishing the season with no other silverware, who knows what team they might put out to make sure they win something - could be an interesting game

Since when was Manchester part of Lancashire? I was under the impression it was in Greater Manchester. Typical Manc's...

Politicians can move borders, but, hearts stay with your county of birth. Manc's are happy to be Lancs.:) Well done City, one for Wardy rest in peace |
Re: So near yet ..........
Nice to see all those Mancunians out on the streets of their City, the train stations were surprising quite yesterday, with no fans having to ship in from all over the country for the big parade:D

Re: So near yet ..........
So we lost it, an absolute nail biter to the finish, and there can be no doubt that the NN are a great team - roll on next season.
Looking at it overall, to say we have played crap for most of the season - as so many of you have pointed out, to lose on goal difference and amass the number of points that we did - not too bad all round. Probably going to be between us and the NN next season with Chelsea, Arsenal and maybe Spurs making up the chasing pack - the scousers will probably go all out for a top half finish and be above Everton. I know that the scousers were set to break a number of records this season but don't know if they did manage it - lowest points, least goals, least wins and most money spent, all were possibly new records for them - Oh yes, they won the Milk Cup. A good season according to KK.:tongueout:p:D |

are they behind La Creme? I am sure that they would swap the Milk Cup for a top four finish - Oh, I forgot, this was a succesful season according to KK:tongueout:tongueout |

Obviously the Yanks weren't satisfied with the Milk Cup, perhaps KK should have taken John Wayne's advice and "Get off your horse and drink your milk" The good news for the scousers is that Keano may be available if VFC sack him - after all his record isn't much worse than KK's and he didn't have all those millions to spend. Poor scousers, never mind, you can swap your red shirts for Everton's blue ones, they finished ahead of you and not 37 points behind the league leaders:dummy2::tongueout:tongueout:hidewall::D:D: D |
