England v Ukraine

Has already been said this is a tougher game than against Moldovia..we are at home but do have some regular players out specially in defence.. I'll go with a 2-0 win for us.:)

Good call.. 1-1 draw was 10/1 at the bookies.

Think it was just about the fairest result.. but only just!

Just about is right. To be honest I thought we looked liked the away side a lot of the time. Still not convinced about Roy Hodgson. I know I'm probably going to get roasted about this but I actually thought Capello was the man for the job and was treated badly. Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm proved wrong but at the moment we just look like a premiere league side trying to play international football and that won't win world cups.
By the way, why was Gerrard moaning about his two bookings? His first was almost assault and the second was just downright clumsy. The ref had no choice on either.

I think is Hodgson's player use was quite poor really, He played Cleverley in the wrong position, couldn't hit a barn door sitting on the sneak, would rather he'd have started with Welbeck, thinks seem to improve when he came on, Gerrard was a bit rash, but its how he's always played 100% trier

True. As I say, I hope I'm proved wrong.

Gerrard often finds somthing to moan about imho, used to quite like him till he got away with the assault charge in Southport a few years back & let others take the flack for him - have seen him in a different light since that incident

I didn't see this game...why bother? The only foregone conclusion was that England would not win. Watching the national team play these days is like watching the X factor on an endless loop. It is relentless crap. Only the braindead must follow this nonsense.

Anyway, I'm going back down the pub.

And there was me thinking he'd been found not guilty in a court of law, silly me:rolleyes:

Can't understand why players are chosen to play in different positions and in a different style than they do for their clubs. Either pick players to play in the positions they normally do or change the system to suit the players that are chosen.
OK, so quite a few first choice were missing - so modify the system to suit whoever is chosen - found the match boring.

Ya fully agree there Barrie, its not rocket science, Cleverley doesn't play in that position for United so why play him there for England, and its not as if he is a seasoned performer, he's not fully guaranteed a start every week for his club.
