Squeaky Time
Certainly it has now become squeaky time for everyone - United now have to win 3 games and draw one, out of seven, a very tall order - assuming the NN don't drop any points.
Stanley need to get as many points as they can and it does look as though they are on a roll and heading for safety. Liverpool trying desperately to qualify for Europe - the Europa League that is - or is the main aim to get above Everton. Where are the glory days gone when the scousers could be expected to be fighting for the title. Finally, and it may well be terminal, the Deadwood Gang. Can they get out of the relegation zone or are they dooooomed and going down to the 1st Division and starting on the slippery slope to oblivion - perhaps an even greater humiliation is that Burnley are way above them - perhaps R.I.P. Deadwood The next few weeks are going to be interesting:D |

United have spent years in the wilderness but the support was always there - even when thay went into the 2nd Division they had crowds bigger than most 1st Division clubs and they certainly boosted the attendance at other clubs in the 2nd Division - whereas your teams just get lower and lower gates. Both you and Cashy should be able to see that, or is a trip to Specsavers needed by you both - By the way Jay, which are your two clubs this week?:p:rolleyes::D |

The reason Man Utd fans are spread far and wide can be laid at the door of Thatcherism. Man Utd fans, not wanting a life on the dole being unable to afford to watch thier heroes, heeded Maggie and Tebbit's advice and got on their bikes to look for work. |

Re: Squeaky Time
I wonder if jaysay and his plastic Scouser friends could enlighten us as to which team has won the premiership for the 20th time, with four games still to play?
Clue: It's not Blackburn Rovers or Liverpool. Oh, My lads. You should've seen us coming, fastest team in the league, just to see us running, all the lads and lasses, with smiles upon their faces, walking down the Warwick Road... To see Matt Busby's Aces" |

National express to Liverpool, then the 19/19A to Robson st for Anfield, I believe there's even a designated match bus for home games. ;)

Re: Squeaky Time
Jay, as I respect your knowledge and views as to which clubs one should support - i.e. Home Town club. I would really appreciate your views on a somewhat difficult one to work out as to who you think they should support:
1st Son born in Blackburn, but family lived in Church (Rovers or Stanley), 2nd Son born in Sheffield, lived there for 7 months (Wednesday or United), 3rd Son born in Norwich, lived there for 5 years. As it happens they all inherited brains and support United, one even has a season ticket, another goes to all the games in London and the occasional one at OT (and takes his Dad), and the 3rd one is in the wilds of the West Country;):D |

How do you define "Home Town Team". If the objective isn't to win, what is the point in taking part? Surely every team wants to be successful so how do you measure success, is it avoiding relegation or winning trophies?:p:D |
Re: Squeaky Time
Success at a team like Stanley, who are punching way above there weight, given resources, is Staying in the football league. of course the objective is to win,if yeh can!. Plastics objective is more "Has to win" Theres the difference, Wi a team like Stanley i call it Sport.;)

End of season blues:( Perhaps SAF decided that he wanted to ensure that Mourinho came back to Chelsea, so tried to ensure they get into the Champions League:rolleyes: or perhaps he just wanted to make sure that as many of his players as possible got their 5 appearances in to qualify for a Premiership Winners Medal;)
All in all a pretty crap game - the only good thing about the day was that the scouse gits didn't beat Everton:p (sorry DinG);) Your forecasting was pretty good Jay - 1 out of 2 came up for you which is better than your normal standard;):D |
