I saw him play a few times but the game I remember most is when Burnley beat Man City 2.1 at Main Road in May 1960 to win the 1st Division Championship. What a night that was !!! Pilkington scored first past him then Hayes equalised. A draw wasn't good enough but Meredith scored a second for Burnley to give them the win they needed for the title. He was a great goalie and a gentleman. Legend is used far too often these days but in his case it is true. R.I.P Bert.
