Burnley 0-0 Leicester, abondoned 19mins

Burnley's game yesterday was abandoned after 19 mins due to waterlogged pitch.

I was surprised they even started the game becuase the pitch was quite bad at 3pm, but the game kicked off and the rain carried on.

The ball didnt go out of play for about 5 minutes because the water was stopping it and it was becoming impossible to pass the ball.

The referee decided to call the game off when the players started swimming instead of running.

Re: Burnley 0-0 Leicester, abondoned 19mins

most of the fans had left by this time, that photo was took about 10-15 minutes after the games was abandoned.

The pitch was just playable at 3pm and the referee warned both managers that the game could be abandoned. Then the rain carried on and it was like a monsoon ive never seen rain like it before.

as for friday night i cant wait for the game.

We are the underdogs, liverpool are expected to beat us, so there is no pressure on us.
If the defence play like they have been doing most of the season then Liverpool are going to have a job scoring against us.

Are you going on friday bagpuss

UP THE CLARETS

1) The stand you can see fully is the away one, and leicester didnt bring a lot - as you can see

2) The stand on the left is the Bob Lord, and there is quite a lot of fans in there.

3) The stand where this picture was taken from had lots of fans in as its 1 of the best stands

4) The stand to the right which is the JH had lots and lots of fans in it.

5) No attendance was given but there will have been around 11,000 - 14,000 on this game.

Bagpuss looks like Jerzy has kept his place against Burnley so lets hope Blake has already gone.

Academy: Drop It Like Dudek

Introduction
Last season Jerzy Dudek successfully followed in the fluff-steps of Liverpool goalkeeping greats such as Sander ‘Dropped my career’ Westerveld, David ‘Couldn’t hold a cross in a church’ James.
Dudek’s skill of dropping the ball through his legs will make you an instant legend for years to come and is the easiest way to get yourself onto a selection of videos – possibly with a £250 return.

Practice
http://www.laughfc.co.uk/zimages/puffin.gifIt’s important to equip yourself with a nose so big that even a bus driver couldn’t see past it. If you don’t have a nose like a 20-foot puffin, then you can make one out of a suitably sized piece of fabric – say, like the one for a tent.

Then get yourself a ridiculously large pair of gloves and cover them with the contents of a large tub of lard - for that extra slipperiness.

http://www.laughfc.co.uk/zimages/lard.gif + http://www.laughfc.co.uk/zimages/giant-hand.gif

http://www.laughfc.co.uk/zimages/vaseline.gifNote: if at this point a team-mate of yours approaches you in the showers with a half-used tub of Vaseline as an alternative, a quick turn into them with the right knee raised should end any future awkward soap-dropping moments.

Now you look the part, and have the equipment to actually make such a talentless error possible, you should get someone to softly head the ball back to you and let nature take its course – you’ll be playing at Anfield before you know it.

Note: To make it more realistic you could get someone to wear a big girlie blonde Abba wig and skip towards you like Diego Forlan - maybe your team-mate you met in the showers

Point taken Bazf, agreed he is not the best keeper we have had but he's better than a lot in the premiership, Roy Carroll for instance, that was a joke tonight, I've never seen a ball more over the line and not given but of course it was at Old Trafford.

the officials should be relegated to league 2 for that desicion, disgraceful

slater_scott 05-01-2005 10:43

it really was, everyone could see the ball cross the line, it was a good 2-3 foot accross the line

This is because it the police will not have let you had the stadium full or that some people with season ticket or people with tickets do not turn up to the games

Re: Burnley 0-0 Leicester, abondoned 19mins

newcastle brought around 5,000.

it was boxing day too, a traditional day for when families go to football.

Fearon1 06-01-2005 15:47

Re: Burnley 0-0 Leicester, abondoned 19mins

Burnley have been away at boxing day for the past few seasons, otherwise we would have had a big attendance on.
