Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
Two Burnley fans are walking along the High Street when they see in a Chemist shop window ‘Free BFC Season Tickets’ within. One Dingle asks the other to go in and get two.
The Dingle is in there for over half an hour leaving his mate hanging around in the street. Eventually he comes out of the chemists and hands his mate a packet of condoms. “What’s this? Where are the season tickets?” He asks. “Sorry I was too embarrassed to ask!” |

Akin"panicbuy" gets an average of 8 goals a season in division 1. Top buy |
Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
He will score more for us than he does with Stoke becuase our style of play suits him best, thats why SC bought him.

Gallacher's first touch is a 5 yard pass its awful, he isnt good enough for the Premiership, the Championship is probably his level, or even lower. Dickhead is just little 5hit, he is not good enough, 300k explains it all, he is past it!!!! Akinbiyi is a lot better than them 3 and would do a beter job in the Premiership than them. Akinbiyi = £12.6million in transfer funds throughout his career :) |
Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
Do you remember when he was at Leicester he was a bigger joke then the Neville brothers. Adi Akinbiyi- Leicester CityDuring his time at Leicester, Ade Akinbiyi was to missing sitters what Vincent van Gogh was to painting. By the winter of 2001 he had become a comedy legend and even the Sun headlined, ‘Ade’s the worst striker in the league!’ on the front page of their sport’s section – rather kind for a tabloid. Signed in the summer of 1999 for a record fee of £5m, Akinbiyi was seen as new boss Peter Taylor’s replacement for Emile Heskey. In hindsight he was, it was just that he was the replacement of today’s hopeless Emile Heskey, rather than the decent youngster that left for Liverpool. For most of Akinbiyi’s first season, sitting in row Z was relatively safe as Leicester even challenged for their second successive UEFA Cup spot. However, a dramatic fall - of Ruud van Nistelrooy proportions – saw them lose nine of their last ten games. Then came the fateful 2001/02 campaign, where the worlds of Leicester City and Ade Akinbiyi fell apart quicker than a Wolves back-four. From the outset, Leicester’s defence couldn’t even mark a lottery ticket, while the blundering Akinbiyi couldn’t strike a match. It wasn’t long before the Nigerian’s calamities were turning ‘The Premiership’ into ‘You’ve Been Framed’ and he only made this worse when he finally broke his duck, twelve games into the season, against Sunderland. Embarrassingly, Akinbiyi celebrated by roaring around the stadium, topless, flexing his muscles (if only he spent as much time on his shooting) like he had scored a wonder goal. Unfortunately, replays showed that his six-yarder had taken a big deflection off a defender, then the post, all after he fluffed his first attempt. By February 2002 Leicester were virtually relegated and Akinbiyi was a cult zero, having bagged just two goals from 22 appearances (and 78 entries into ‘101 Gaffes’). Astonishingly, it was then that Crystal Palace decided to pay whooping £2.2m for the misfit, when even a free transfer would have been overpriced. His time at Crystal Palace has been like his finishing – woeful. After injury, poor form and a hilarious rumour linking him with the 2002 Nigerian World Cup squad, Akinbiyi was looking for a new club and along came the mighty Stoke as was said at the time, he has great dressing room presence. He now has 6 goals and 6 yellow cards. Whatever happens with his next move, the Nigerian can take heart in the fact that he has already left his mark on Premiership football – albeit about 20 yards above most uprights. Ade Akinbiyi we salute you… |

Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
What a pratt - his debut lasting just 2 minutes and 38 seconds before he was sent off, no room for that sort of beahviour in football. A swingin elbow into the back of a player, then he pushed him off the pitch, then he headbutted him, then grabbed him by the throte. WELL DONE ADE BRILLIANT DEBUT

Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
Tinkerbelle, did the everton match make you laugh too?
|
Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
Scotty boy
you take the micky out of burnley when to b honest rovers arent much better, as shown in the last 15 minutes of the darby game! rovers are past it but i must say that if hughes gets chance to get his feet under the table properly u might have a chance of finishing one season without worrying about relegation probably the best thing to happen to rovers since dwight york left But burnley seem to be going in the right direction just to rub it in most burnley fans get to see a more entertaining game of footy than rovers fans do!!! Good players----- nope Good Team morale-----nope Good fans-----definatly not Good attendence-----only when they play man u, chelsea, arsenal or rovers Good league poisition---nope Its not looking good really is it? |

Re: Akinbiyi has signed for Burnley
the 500 rovers fans has shocked me, i`d have expected more than that tbh.
no because it was costing £40, who do they think they are chelsea? and plus it was mothers day and on tv. I went last year when the prices were more reasonable and we sold out and had a cracking day. |

Mid table would be around 10,11,12 postion I think 14 is lower half of mediocre div 1.

To say we were firm favourites for relegation at the beggining of the season i dont think we av done too badly. We started with the smallest squad in the country. Our team is still full of ternent players, most of them will b gone at the end of the season and then Steve Coterill can make it his own team, i tell you now we will be higher than mid table next season :) |
