Bayern sign Beckham -- on April 1
 

Bayern Munich's website has carried what it claims is a dramatic transfer coup -- the signing of England captain David Beckham from Real Madrid.

The club said Beckham had signed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga leaders and would be the club's most expensive signing, hinting at the same 35 million euro (24 million pounds) fee Real paid Manchester United for the midfielder in 2003.




It said "Becks" had chosen Bayern as he faced another season without silverware and because his family was plagued by paparazzi in Madrid.

The official website added that his number 12 Bayern shirt would soon be available in the club shop.

A Bayern spokesman confirmed the story had been an April Fool hoax, without saying why they had settled on the English captain for their prank. Beckham played in the dramatic 1999 European Cup Final in which United beat Bayern 2-1 with two last gasp goals.

Actually now you mention it i was watching the 1999 final in a market square in Bavaria on a big screen.When the Germans scored they went mad and there was only about 20 of us English lads.When Utd scored the 20 voices drowned out the Germans, and when they won the chant ' You only sing when you are winning' was heard all over that town.
Great night i thoroughly enjoyed myself flying the English Flag.Had to wait a couple of years for the 5 - 1 thrashing to do it all over again.Memories i will never forget

I think you will find that most clubs in the football league have "prem" on thier site address. And prem was just short for "premiumtv" not premiership what you though :)

Its because the link doesnt fit on the post so it shortens it. Look at the preston link, it says premiumtv, it would say just prem but that link is shorter than Burnley's

Quite acceptable to jest and I never take offence although at times I will fight back with a little humor, :) I think at times the kids that use this site just dont get it.
