Bee mate, why 2 estates?
While we are here, can I revise mine, Aston Martin DBS, 2011 model, BMW M5 Saloon, 2011 model. Oh and a Gulfstream G550 Business jet with crew to fly it! |
Re: My 2 cars would be......
Why all the craving for big fast cars, and racng about like your at Brands Hatch. Are you asking for a driving ban, appen 12 months riding on buses will teach you a lesson.
All a car needs to do, is transport you safely & comfortably from A to B, in a reasonable time, as economicaly as possible, what doe's it matter what the colour is, or the size of the engine. Retlaw. |
Re: My 2 cars would be......
There may be a speed limit but not an acceleration limit, plus sorry but big engines sound so much better, this is not a thread about sensible forms of transport, its a wish list of decadent motoring luxury.
I drive a 176k mile 6 year old.honda accord diesel estate, but wish for something much nicer, fact is the honda is "better" at what I need right now, a lottery win would change the requirements , completely |

Re: My 2 cars would be......
Retlaw, If you have no fascination with cars with big engines, then so be it. I have no fascination with Firearms, referring to your post on another thread, things that are designed to kill others and nothing else are not my idea of fun.
Neil and Entwisi, I am afraid I cannot beat you guys, Mrs BG's 16 yerold Volvo 850 estate, T5, only has 170,000 on the clock and my BMW Coupe 140,000. |

so 3 years older than mine which by my reckoning would put them on the same average miles/year :D problem is at these mileages its now getting to the point that a wear and tear item is in danger of being not economical to fix. A clutch on mine is ~ 800 quid, if the DMF is worn thats another 700, if the cars worth 1500 which it is likely to be in the next 12 months then its not "worth" fixing as it would be running a 200K gearbox, suspension, engine, interior etc.... At which point its a case of shipping the thing out on FleaBay or stripping it and flogging as bits. Seems a shame for a 7 year old car that is still quite presentable. |
Re: My 2 cars would be......
A 1969 Dodge Charger, 383 magnum (383 block, 440 heads), six pack, hooker headers, four on the floor Hurst shift, hood tach, ... I had one ... took me a whole year to blow the motor:eek: (Ok, I was 25:, eh) I was clocked at 134 mph on the Crowfoot in Calgary ... that would be about five minutes before my arrest:D
And for an everyday drive, I'll pick what I have now: A 1990 Cadillac de Ville, 4.5, front wheel drive, almost mint. Pics available in Old Motor thread.) |
