Radio Control Car Clubs
hi all me and a friend are getting back in to electric rc cars does anyone know of any clubs in or around the bb post code, i am aware of the one already at west view lesuire in preston but i was hoping for 1 nearer to home
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
I'm not sure but i wouldn't mind finding one myself. I recently bought a couple of nitro cars and need to sort some bits out to get them running again.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
found a great place to race in ozzy.its a full size gravel footy pitch....been down a few times with my nitro truck giving it full blast all the way round...first time ive had it out anywhere without breaking the feccker..no bumps or kerbs to bang into...
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
yeah im looking for the same , just finishing my new electric buggy ( the missus managed the throw the last one away somehow) and have been looking for a local club.
Now according the the latests Radio Controlled Car Racer magazine which has a clubs directory in the back there is a Oswaldtwistle Buggy Club which race 1/10th scale buggys out of Victoria Sports Football Arena at 7:15 on a friday night. But this is unconfirmed by myself. Anyways if there is enuff people perhaps we could set a new club, not that i have all the electrics for my car as yet :( Bought the kit on ebay for £200 built it but still not bought all that one needs to make the thing work. |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
yeah its a good idea to start ne up as i have a nitro buggy but never really race it because it cuts out when i rev it
I need help |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
im no expert in buggies by any means however i have the power of the internet and im willing to give it a go :)
I wonder if winfields car park would be a good place for testing these things out they have that nice open gravel area at the start of it if i recall and we could always use the lancashire homes and gardens car park till they turn it into tescos :) |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
Ive just ordered a new bodyshell for my LOSI (didnt like my paitn job on the last one) and hoping to order my motor and speed controller this afternoon god willing. Only problem atm is the website i want to order from wont post to a different address from my credit / debit card address which i can understand. Only no one is really about during the day and either way my dog has a post fettish and if he can break a metal zippo lighter in a padded envelope im sure he can make light work of an expensive ESC.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
does anyone know if that oswaldtwistle buggy club still exists then?
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
I`ve no idea if there is a club in ossy. But I think a great place for messing with the radio control cars would be the bmx track at west end.. Is that still there? Starting a local club sounds like I good idea, I would also be interested as I have 2 nitro vehicles(dead imports unfortunately) and am hoping for a third sometime soon....
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
well im off to otley model sport on saturday to pick up some parts, and ill be going to rossendale models also i think to pick up some paint so ill ask if they know of anything in accy area, if not then we will sort something new.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
i still stand by the footy fields accross from the stop and rest in ozy..its totally flat and would make a great race meet place...ive never seen people using when ive been down..so dont think it would upset people with a few cars racing round.......better get some lights on for night races as its a bit dark at night.....
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
yeha its areally good idea do u think we should set up a club
Accyweb racers maybe..l.... |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
So is this a non go-er then or is anybody up for it
|

|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
still need to check if this oswadtwistle buggy club exists, does anyone go to rossendale models often cos they might know.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
went to ross models once ordered a load of parts and they never came......so i have now pledged my elegance to modelsport... they have most parts on site and can order them if not....pulled me out of the poo a few times as i sometimes struggle to get parts....another good one is balsa models in bburn...
So have we started a club yet..i can see me tearing up the snow:cool: |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
yeah but i will need some help to start and get to learn how to drive my buggy
Can anyone help |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
Also im only 16 so do u want me to set up this club
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
what car do you have???????????
i will look into ozzy car club |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
i go to rossendale models only for paint for static kits, usually its modelsport wwww.modelsport.co.uk or as in tommorow i will be driving there to get my bits. Lucky for me its not too far from work and i can go during lunch.
i think i have a number for ossy club somewhere in this mag where is it here we go i have no worries about giving the contact details out as its clearly published in the back of "Radio control car RACER" magazie Decembers issue. Ive tried the number but only during the day when i got chance but no one answered. OSWADTWISTLE BUGGY CLUB Victoria Sports Football Arena, Victoria Street Accrington 1:10 Off Road Alan Isherwood Tel : 01254 385128 Fridays 7:15 |

Feel free to come and sample its sweetness :P was in rossendale models earlier. he says there is a club in bury that race well XXX's so that must be 1/10th electric buggies at least dont know what else they do. and i know there is one in batly. and i know there is a 1/8th nitro club towards skipton with a shop in the same town. anyways whats the score anyone wanna meet up for a spin and to look at each others models let me know? |

|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
ive found clubs in bury (near b and q) and one in batly, currently they are running mainly indoor 1/10th scale elextric with it being cold and damp outside (would hate to think what would all thos nitros be like inside) and they meet most sundays, not sure which one i will be visiting this sunday but ill keep you updated.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs

|

Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
So do u lot want to have a fortnighly meet some where or has that idea gone out the window
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
just come back from racing, broke my rear shock tower comming of a jump at jubilee at bury, for people running any electric cars, buggies touring or mardave i reccomend going there.
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
Just electric though poodle
|
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
fraid so, it appears they dont really run nitros, it is indoors afterall and they do get a bit stinky.
they run tourers mardaves stock cars buggies and i think they might start doing trucks if there is enough people running trucks. thursday night is tourers and mardaves, fridays is mardaves tourers and buggies i think, saturday is practice, and sunday is buggies and tourers mainly. http://www.jubileearena.co.uk/index2.asp |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
So do u know of anywhere that has at outside track for the nitros
But isuppose they r more for the summer months |
Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
not at this time of year, its cold enough inside let alone wet and miserable outside

Re: Radio Control Car Clubs
Did you get your car club going? For anyone wanting to race nitro & willing to travel there is a club in Stockport. I know they race friday nights. We race 1 1/2 oval stock cars & bangers but have to travel to Urmston (near Trafford centre) to race.
For any would be nitro racers there will be a new club opening in Bury some time this year I will post again when I know it's up & running. |
