VHS-Digital?
 

:confused: Not too sure if this right forum.
Can any one let me know if it is possible to transfer from a JVC VHSC camcorder to PC so that video can be "burnt" to DVD.

Have just got the cam but nowhere in info sheet does it show PC conections or do I have to take tape to Photo Shop and pay for transfer?????????????? :D

YOu need either some form of TV input on your PC(TV Cards start at ~£30 and go up to£MEGA depending on quality etc) or a kind soul whose DV camcorder has analogue in(Most Canons do) then you can squirt it in via Firewire. Firewire cards cost £10 upwards.

If its a one off do the second route, if its for constant useage get a good TV card. BE WARNED, VIDEO TAKES UP LOADS AND LOADS OF DISK SPACE FOR ANYTHING LIKE DECENT QUALITY!!!!! We are talking upwards of 20 GIG for raw video suitable to burn a DVD.

thanks for the info will have to look around for good card and think about seperate hard drive for the space problems
