If you're uploading it as gif it should stay as gif.

if you are altering it in a prog' then saving it, be sure it's again saved as gif (some progs default to what they consider best).

If you already knew this, don't shout at me, you have a problem.
:o

In case you are wondering why a block of concrete is interesting - I explain - it is a good example of photo manipulation via lens distortion.

A free prog called gimp, (plenty of tutorials) though if you are correct and you're uploading a .gif it should remain a .gif

Can I just say Margaret "Gif" is used mainly for animation so if your photo is a still I cant see the point in using Gif you can use Jpeg

I was going to use this as an example of image distortion that the media use to manipulate our perception of events they broadcast - another way of photo manipulation.
(which is another tool to add to photoshopping and event stageing)

You just find the address of the GIF you want to use and copy it to your clipboard, then when you are composing your post, click the "insert image" button that's right over your text, and paste in the address.

I look forward to your thread on image manipulation. In the meantime, here's another GIF...

another test

It works when you click the link.

Thanks Studio :D

A more refined version with the item displaying will have to wait until I learn more.

I think you're just pasting the link into the message body. You need to press the "insert image" button (it's a yellow square with some mountains) and paste the link into the box that pops up.
