Using space bar Doesn't work. Any suggestions, please? |
Re: How do you do a Table?
Gordon, I don't know if this will work...but have you tried doing the table on WORD and then cutting and pasting to your post.
That might work...but it might not...worth a try? |
Re: How do you do a Table?
just tried it...it doesn't work....sorry!
|
Re: How do you do a Table?
Now you're getting technical on me, Margaret. I'll have to take another pill!
I'll try it but I'm sure you should be able to create more than one space between letters on here. Edit-Just seen your post-saved a pill. One of our experts will know how I'm sure. |
Re: How do you do a Table?
What kind of table are you trying to make, and is it to copy into a post.

Re: How do you do a Table?
I tried on the 'Paris Shootings' thread. Just 3 or 4 headings spread across the page so they're clearly separate with the relevant figures lined up under them.
The space bar does it as you type it but when you enter the post the spaces cut down to one. |
Re: How do you do a Table?
Ah right, I was thinking of an excel table but you mean how your post is set out. You could
use...........full............stops__________or___ ____ underscore |
Re: How do you do a Table?
Ahh, yes, that would work, not leaving an empty space. I'm surprised there's no way to lock in a wider space, though.
Thanks, gpick24, I'll try that next time. 111___________222____________333 qqq___________www___________eee Edit- that's the way to do it! |
Re: How do you do a Table?
Not pretty but it`ll do the job. I`m sure a mod or admin will know a better way.

Re: How do you do a Table?
Are we talking about a four-legged table, or a times table ? I realise it's not a table-ender

I thought this was a follow on to the Wigan guy who was caught "doing" a postbox.:) |

'A table is a collection of related data held in a structural format within a database. It consists of fields(columns) and rows'. Example- Boy_______Cane________lines___Detention____Board Duster Bob_______373_________578_____241________1763 Barry_______17_________23_______41_________521 Gordon______1__________1________2___________4 Arthur_______0__________0________0___________0 In the interests of modesty I've inflated my numbers a bit. Otherwise the numbers are from memory but are probably fairly accurate. Not all tables have 4 legs! |
Re: How do you do a Table?
It is clear to me that Bob doesn't have a table, because he asked to get his feet under mine (see kipper thread - post 19) :D

Re: How do you do a Table?
Start up the trusty notepad in Windows and type up your table the way you want it to appear in plain text - using spaces to arrange the columns. Then press <Ctrl A> then <Ctrl C>
Back in your Accyweb post, click "Go advanced" if you aren't already using that feature. Above your text, in the row of formatting symbols, there's a hash button second from right. When you click it, it'll put

at the point where your cursor is flashing. Move your cursor back to the adjacent square brackets at the middle and press <Ctrl V> Good luck |
Re: How do you do a Table?
Hell, S25, I didn't even know I had a Windows notepad and I certainly wouldn't trust it- everything I try goes wrong and it's never my fault!
I'll have to try that but if I make it work I'll be expecting a degree in Computer Programming. |
Re: How do you do a Table?
If you're running a version of Windows since vista, all you need to do is press the windows key on your keyboard or click the start button at the bottom left. Then type "notepad" and the program will appear in the results.
If you want to locate it manually, it's in the "Accessories" program group. |
