Morrissey at King George's Hall
Anyone else manage to get tickets to see Morrissey on 11th May at King George's Hall? Tickets went on sale at 9am, I sat hitting redial from 9 onwards, and finally got through at 9.50....phew! It sold out not long after, I believe. In fact every venue has sold out, as a work colleague tried ringing them all up this afternoon! Should be a fantastic night, I can't wait!

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
Oh no, please don't tell me Morrisey is going to inflict his own brand of depression back on the world again!

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
Come on Gayle there is nothing depressing about Morrissey, just excellent music.

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
His new album out soon is supposed to be his best solo work according to his producer. Hopefully it is! I loved 'You Are The Quarry', 'Irish Blood, English Heart'is a great anthem.

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
Wasn't a massive fan back in the eighties, too much competition for me in the tortured angst stakes, but when I heard 'First of the Gang to Die' off his latest album, I decided he is a genius.
Didn't even know he was coming to King George's.:) Will do the groupy bit by the stage door.:) Why does he inspire such love from straight men? Weird, but totally cool. |
Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
I seem to remember in another thread you said you were a Cliff fan, Gayle....
...says it all really doesnt it? :D I think Morrissey and The Smiths are particularly 'blokes music', as the lyrics are quite exclusive. Whereas your taste in music (forgive me for being ignorant, just going off the Cliff thing here) seems to be very much 'easy listening'? Tastes differ and all that.... Mozzer's back baby! wooooo |

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
I always thought it was a bit of a myth, the thing about his music being depressing, I think there's so much humour in his lyrics. See you there Uncle Mick, glad someone else was as lucky as me. I did consider doing a Daniel O'Donnell and camping outside King George's Thursday night, and had a few stressful moments this morning when I kept getting the engaged tone!

Re: Morrissey at King George's Hall
We may actually have a couple of spare tickets as we bought extra "just in case". Will know more after tomorrow night. Gayle was always more shiny happy music, Culture Club,Scritti Polliti,Slik. I`m not a massive Mosser fan myself but last time he played King Georges my mate won tickets from the Observer and persuaded me to go and I was very impressed. Oh and Klacto, we`ve probably met in the past, New Era, Sports centre, Disc`N `Tape so lets see who spots who first!!
