Hang on! Hang on! shaker! Daniel Powter, ok I personally like his song Bad Day but I'll give you that one.

James Blunt though? OK you might not like the sound of voice, I will agree to some it must sound annoying, he does sound nasal while he's singing (reminds of someone else but he sticks the microphone right up his nose to get that sound  He can hardly be called talentless, or an immitator, I will stand corrected if you know something i don't but I'm sure James Blunt has been writing his own songs for years and can he also play instruments.

Sorry for that little thread wander expat .... :o I also meant to add that we went to see Embrace at Preston Guild a couple of weeks ago. They were pretty good! The highlight being Ashes I love that song :)

Re: Best Concerts

Sorry my use of 'talentless' was not clear. It was directed at theses artists bringing nothing new to the table - perhaps leeching off the success of White Ladder a few years ago. Hell, it's only my opinion :D Powter & Blunt can write a decent pop song & play it live I agree; but it's the way that 12 year olds (hope my brother doesn't read this haha) latch on to them as musical guidance that puts the shudders into me - I suppose it's better than being into all the chav crap!

lol me too.
still don't see the attraction to that stuff - even when ever so slightly paralytic at daft o clock in the morning (coincidentally the only time you'll catch me singing along to daniel powter!! :D )

lol!! Lots of beer has the same effect on the earring that it does with eyesight ..... but at least with music you can wake up and think "did I really download that last night?" Then delete it!!! ;) :D

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are brilliant I've been a fan for a while; if no one has heard of them then get downloading! You've probably heard the song 'Nature Boy' as it was a hit a couple of years ago.

Hi Expat, If you haven't heard of Embrace now you will soon :) They've been given the official England World Cup song. If you have a look on limewire Natures Law is a good one, as is Gravity and as I've said before my favourite, Ashes.

Is Nick Cave the one who did that song with Kylie?

Expat, these are some of my personal favourite Embrace songs should you want to have a scant:

Out of Nothing
Glorious Day
Ashes
Come back to what you know
All you good good people
Fireworks
Exploding Machines
Sainted
Target
The good will out

Just had a quick google chuck and yeah I think it is ........ BUT!!! Before you go sending threatening letters to his fan club ;) it wasn't actually a bad song. It was different, whilst Kylie was going through her Micheal Hutchene stage. I think I read somewere that it was Hutchene that introduced the pair. The song is called 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' give it a listen then decide :)

I think I'll have a mooch on limewire see what Mr Cave is up to these days

Re: Best Concerts

I actually remember that song now...wow it was rather awful. But the only 4 minutes of Kylie's career I have been able to listen through while not wanting to bludgeon my head over and over again with a large blunt object.:)
