The Fratellis - Costello Music

An amazing live band with fresh sounds, however the album has quite a lot of filler which is a let down, as the tracks they left out were real great tunes.

I would'nt usually buy this kind of compilation(honest)but me & the missus spent a weekend on the lash in Blackpool the other month & a lot of the songs we heard were on it.So a big trip down musical(not so distant) memory lane goes to......NOW THATS WHAT I CALL MUSIC 64.:) :) :)

An original 1957 copy of the "Here's Little Richard" LP in practically mint condition which I picked up on ebay. 49 years old and it's wearing better than me! A priceless treasure.

Downloading?...bah!...electrickery!

Re: last album?

Perhaps LFO 'Freak'. I've been spending more time downloading and listening to local bands over the past year or so - India Mill are excellent as are Ashleigh Coffee Morning Band.

Check out some of the really good bands around here at the moment - much going on at the Attic, plus Noize Annoize, Independent, Corrupted and Acoustic Uprising collectives putting on nights in Blackburn. Chances are you can grab some free CDs from local bands and check out their myspace sites.

Much music out there and the best isn't being sold by the major labels...! :)

Can't remember the last album I bought as Ian tends to downlad them all for me. The last one we downloaded was Corrine Bailey Rae.

Last album I bought was The Killers and Razorlight. Mind you being an old git I do have a tendency to buy obscure punk collections.

The last album i bough was RAY LAMONTAGNE, what an album, totally chilled out with vocals that could move mountains, reminds me a bit of damian rice and david grey. Only one tune electric on the album it's called How Come? also an excellent tune.

I agree with Semihere, there are some fantastic local bands. India Mill, Maupa, the Citizen band, Old boys ashes, Small amp, the shift, all local and really good. And most of them can be found at the attic :) and all of them on myspace :)
