Re: James Brown Funeral on TV live

apart from one or two minor upsets , usual at any family funeral it was a good do .
Michael Jackson made an appearence and was called up on to the stage and made a simpering speech ( a few boos and catcalls from the audience) the Rev Al Sharpton (a black leader) called on him to carry on the torch ........

His current wife/sig.other Mother of his 7 yr old son also recieved a few boos and some slagging from his older kids (a bit un-neccessary) .

On the whole a much better do than the one for President Ford whose funeral also started today , his was typical white bread ....

Heard it was an open casket & it was shown on TV.
Seems a bit disrespectful to me but that's obviously the way the family wanted it I suppose.

RIP James Brown.

Yep , open casket in front of 8,000 even the TV cameras zoomed in a couple of times to show what he was wearing , and the undertaker was thanked from the stage for making the extra effort to make him look good , the casket/coffin was 24 caret gold plate , and had to be driven from the Apollo (NYC) showing to Georgia as it was too heavy to be transported by plane ........... , not your usual Accy crematorium job
