SJ, the 50's Platters may be before your time but, like the Drifters, the group had a whole new lease of life in the 60's when they reinvented themselves as a Detriot-style soul group, still with two of the original members, Herb Reed and David Lynch. Surely, you must remember dancing to "With This Ring", "Washed Ashore (On A Lonely Island In The Sea)" and "I Love You 1,000 Times" - all mod club dancefloor favourites in the late '60's.

I remember some of their songs but I think I remember them as 'golden oldies' rather than as current hits. RIP Zola.

my first ever record was Twilight time, the Platters, as i mentioned a while back in a thread, absolutely loved the group, great harmonies.still have and play a few of the singles,also a c.d.thanks for nearly 50 years of pleasure, RIP Zola.
