Depeche Mode
Just dug out some Depeche Mode cd's ..some of there stuff is fantastic.. thinking from when they "came on the scence" early 80's as kids just out of school playing soft synce stuff upto some real hard at you tunes 10 years later. the lead singer Dave Ghan can really put on a show and has quite a rare sort of vocals.. great stuff yeah?

The totally naff, bastard children of Kraftwerk, and not half as good as pre-girls Human Leauge, amongst others. Saying that, the old Essex hoofers have done very well to last this long, amazing really.:D |

Re: Depeche Mode
Thanks for your opinion Garinda.. but I was really hoping to have responses from members who are .. lets say .. abit beyond Elton and Will Young.. and more into music.

Poppet, Depeche Mode were much to poppy, and middle of the road, ever to come under my musical radar. I was into the avant garde music scene, while you were shuffling from foot to foot, in your grey slip-on shoes, worn with white socks, and just a hint of blusher, you rebel you. |
Re: Depeche Mode
I like the 2004 version of 'Enjoy The Silence', but never really liked anything else by them.
Saying that though I don't like a lot of 80s music, that decade shat the ultimate in tack upon society. The 80s for me consists of very few good bands - The Jesus & Mary Chain, Smiths, Stone Roses, Echo & The Bunnymen and pre-Nevermind Nirvana. |

Re: Depeche Mode
got to agree about early Stone Roses- best band to come out of 80s in my opinion. mind thats not saying much, music hit the skids big-time then.;)

However, still not convinced. Though I can see why Americans, who live in trailer parks, go and fill stadiums to see them.:D |

Re: Depeche Mode
Watched a bit of the linked video but couldn't help switching to Enjoy The Silence from the same gig
The singer seems to think he's in U2; not singing the chorus & things like that Not my cuppa |
Re: Depeche Mode
dunno were the vid was from.. got a couple of downloaded vids but don't think I can put them on here.. anyway Cashy can't handle electronic stuff and Rindy just likes dressing up like Adam Ant.. so no converts there!
