Frank Sinatra?

Well, I think I'll go to the foot of our stairs!

I've been looking through my CD collection and playing some long forgotten albums that I have, when as I'm going along the shelf what at first appeared to be an empty jewel case fell to the floor, it fell open and there in front of me was:-
My Way: The Best Of Frank Sinatra [Disc 2]
22 tracks of the man, now I have always hated listening to Frank, I think it's because I grew up with him being played by my older brother, it used to drive me daft.

Where this disk has come from I've no idea maybe it's part of a bulk lot I picked up at a car boot I just don't know.

Out of curiosity I put it on, Oh my God! I just enjoyed it, what has happened to me? Does this mean that the Elvis Recordings my sister used to play whenever my brother would allow her the gramophone, (yes we had a gramophone back then), will now appeal to my ageing ears? I sincerely hope not!

:o

Rubbish, it's nature's way of telling you that you've finally developed good taste. Sinatra is amazing - sorry, was amazing. Not quite a good as Dean Martin though!

I have them both in my car and smile when I play them - except for My Way which makes me cry every time (but not so much because of the song but a memory that goes with it).

I was definitely born too late!

Am I the only one who cannot stand that little, ugly, sexless, smirky attitudy, never hit a pure note in his life creepy, slimy little git Frank Sinatra.

And the song My Way, feel like jumping off the viaduct every time I hear it (sorry Mez). Phew ... feel so much better for that ... :D

It just means you`ve cast aside the vagaries of fashion and are listening to the music. I couldn`t stand Morrisey when I was younger, but it was all down to how he looked and the kind of people who worshipped him. Looking back now there were some great tunes and lyrics, even if his singing style is an aquired taste. In my record collection I proudly sport a bit of Matt Monroe and George Formby, basically cos I like them. Nowt wrong with that.

katex.... no need to apologize i don't like too much of sinatra myself, but do think "my way" is appropriate for what i will use it for.
