Ike Turner dies

just picked up the news Ike Turner passed on this morning
Ike Turner, rock pioneer, ex-husband of Tina Turner, dead at 76

despite his personal problems he did some good music

His music was great but sadly the thing he will be most remembered for by many people is the abuse portrayed in Tina Turner's autobiography.

have some very early ike turner stuff (before ike @tina) he wasnt the greatest husband around, but he could sure bang some good music out R.I.P.

Whatever his personal faults, he was a great musician and performer. Most of today's "R&B acts" couldn't hold a candle to him. A true original!

Hate to speak ill of the dead, but he shan't be missed.
There is no excuse for domestic violence, even his part in creating rock n roll won't suffice.
IMO.

There certainly isn't...which is why there was no excuse for that working-class hero, John Lennon, when he slapped first wife Cynthia so hard, she banged her head against a wall, after seeing her dancing with Stuart Sutcliffe.

many artists have deplorable things in their past/background, in football george best was one, didn't make him a "bad footballer" think folk that cannot distinguish behaviour from talent must be very narrow minded.:p so again R.I.P. to a great musician.
