Picked up a cd yesterday, of Atlantic R&B 1947-1952. VOL 1 . a real swinger, Joe Morris, Stick McGhee, Joe Turner, The Clovers, etc.

You've got to take into account who voted for that Wynonie; readers of the NME/Arctic Monkeys weekly - so it's bound to be a modern classic that takes the prize.
I would've gone for All Mod Cons by the Jam or perhaps Moseley Shoals by Ocean Colour Scene or even At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash.
Remember that a week before NME published that Kurt Cobain is the biggest musical hero of all time....with no feature in the top 50 of Paul Weller or Ray Davies....hmm; something not so right about that magazine methinks.
