Best Band You Never Saw @ Why?
thought i'd start a thread on people for whatever reason you never saw but would have loved to. mine is Stone The Crows, had front row tickets to see in Manchester very early 70s, and just a couple of weeks prior to the concert Les Harvey was electrocuted and died at a gig in swansea, was alleged at the time "Fans" had been messing with equipment before the concert, the band disbanded after this tragedy, so i never did get to see a great band.:(

Queen and the Legendary Freddie Mercury and why? because he was the greatest rock frontman ever with a voice to match.

Can't say just one band but I saw a show at King Georges Hall Blackburn, in the sixties which featured The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Cilla Black and Roy Orbison, and the tickets were 3 shillings and sixpence, I reckon that was value for money:mosher:

There's so many bands/artists I like but will never see live aside from on Youtube videos because I'm just too young.
To name but a few: Johnny Cash, a mid 20's Bob Dylan on tour of England, The Shadows, The Beatles, Stone Roses, Bob Marley, Buddy Holly, CCR, Hendrix, Joy Division, Kinks, The La's, Nirvana, Pulp, Roy Orbison, Scott Walker, the original line up of The Who... just too many! |

Re: Best Band You Never Saw @ Why?
Sitting on the deck, early evening, March or April, 1967...a mate of mine comes rushing up and says: "I'm just about to go on a coach trip to Blackpool to see the Walker Brothers, Cat Stevens, oh and that new bloke who plays guitar with his teeth...Jimi Hendrix. Someone's jibbed out so there's a spare ticket...it's ten bob for the concert and coach...do you want to come?" Look in my pocket, discover I've only got three bob and say: "nah, I won't bother."...and regretted it ever since!

Re: Best Band You Never Saw @ Why?
Picking the right thread up, the band I really regret not seeing was the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jimi was a legend in his own lifeime, a lifetime that was all to short, to my mind he was 20 years ahead of his time, and no-one has very sussed out how he used controlled feedback during his act. Having knocked about with groups for years, we often tried, but it was bloody impossible.

Peter Gabriel - rarely does UK tours. The genius of his work with Genesis never ceases to amaze me. Also would have liked to have seen him with Genesis pre 1980, especially the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Tour which is supposedly an amzing live spectacle. :(
