Music how do you get yours
Music is available in all forms these days, how do who obtain yours. Do you download it from the net, Buy CDs, listen to Sat music channels, Radio. Myself I list to Sat music channels and CDs, ain't got an Ipod and if I had wouldn't have a clue how to download onto it. Talking of Ipods, according to BBC Breakfast this morning, Applemac are negotiating with record companies with regards to people paying up from one off payments with any new ipod for unlimited download allowed within the life of the player, then everying would be lost, although 50 tracks could be transfered to another PC each year, but that ain't sorted yet.

Re: Music how do you get yours
Just about got used to these new-fangled CD thingys. However, there's nowt quite like a good old-fashioned 45...there's a magic about them that those little silver discs can't replace. Still like to pick 'em up (along with LPs and even 78s sometimes) on ebay.
Downloads?...ipods?...bah, electrickery! |
Re: Music how do you get yours
I buy the CDs of my favourite artists and download anything else.
At the moment I'm recording all my vinyl & cassettes, which had been resigned to the loft, onto the PC. |

Re: Music how do you get yours
I'm ashamed to admit it, but my main way of getting music these days is through downloads. I'm too 'financially challenged' for this country's music industry! None of the music I like is stocked in ASDA (beholder of the only music department in Accy) and so if I want a CD I've got to go to Manchester to Piccadilly Records or Sifters. Either that or order off Amazon.
It's a right pain in the jacksy. |

He stocks literally thousands and thousands of C.D's,Vinyl's,Cassettes and much more and if he doesn't have what you are looking for he will get it for you. I would highly recommend trying it out. |
Re: Music how do you get yours
I still buy CD's about 4 year.
I listen to the Radio in work and in the car. Mostly I play the music I like, either on the Tenor Saxophone or on the WX5 and VL70M. Improves the soul within. Ski. |

That must have been awful - It must be like having your heart ripped out. If you ever get any cash together give these people a call - their sax's are excellent. Student tenor saxophones I just bought one last month - the ST5 - I love it, the best Sax I've ever played. Ski. |
Re: Music how do you get yours
I download quite a bit of music to my iPod nowadays, but still buy stuff on CD. The problem with downloading is that the cost of an album from iTunes store isn't that much different to buying the CD version on the internet.
I really miss vinyl, though, and I am increasingly drawn back to it time and again. There's no comparison between the look and feel of a full size album and a little CD cover. I was going to buy a new turntable just this week, but held back when I saw the one I wanted had increased by £20. As soon as the price drops down again I'll be picking one up. |

Re: Music how do you get yours
We've got a stack of vinyl albums up on the top floor and I just discovered that one of the cats has been using them for a scratching post! All the edges of the album covers are now furry and the floor looks like I'm about to make papier mache!

I agree with the people who use Custard Cube in Accy. Got some great Peter Gabriel albums from there as well as ome rare Genesis vinyls. :)

Very rarely buy any type of music medium myself, just put the radio on as like a mixture. Get one occasionally bought at Christmas when my kids don't know what to buy me. As above .. wouldn't know how to download, Ipod or whatever.. :( |
