Thats a real shame one of the all time blues greats, my favourite number of his was Can't Judge a Book. RIP

Totally gutted...a true one-off. A huge influence on The Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Bowie ("Gene Genie" was directly inspired by him) and many, many more.

I'll tip my hat to him next week when I visit Chess Studios where he recorded all his classics.

RIP Bo.

Disgraceful. As the Official Monster Raving Loony Party's Shadow Minister for Real Rhythm & Blues, let me assure the general public that when we are elected this sort of thing will not be tolerated!

My obituary to Bo is now on the Official Monster Raving Loony Party website.

Have the Tory, Labour or Lib Dem websites similarly honoured the Great Man? Remember that when the next election comes around!

Wyn !....Remember this Album from1967.....

'Super Super Blues Band with Muddy Waters and Howlin'Wolf' ( Not forgettin' Clinton James and Cookie Vee!).

I reckon that Bo had that 'Long Distance Call' from Muddy and Wolf and now
wherever the Heavenly Choir happen to be gigging ...they'll be singing the best
Blues ever !...led by these three 'GREATS' !..

RIP BO !.....with the greatest amount of respect that an aging rocker can give !

( Wyn ! Excuse my Avatar !1....Alfred.E hasn't cloned into CV !...but the new image has relevance 'elsewhere'!)

Yep, great album, Yonmon, and the week before last, I was standing in the very room where it was recorded...the old Chess Records studios at 2120 South Michigan Avenue. Believe me, I could feel the hairs stand up on the back of my neck as the ghosts of Muddy, the Wolf, Little Walter, Sonny Boy and Bo echoed round the room!

Welcome back mate, and is Vee Jay studios still there ?.

Wynonie Harris 28-06-2008 21:37

Re: Bo Diddley dies at 79

Nope, VeeJay studios long gone, Al. I'm surprised the Chess studios are still there, as they closed in the 60's. Believe me, it's great to sit there and just soak up the vibes from those hallowed walls!
