Re: Black Sabbath,Deep Purple, or Led Zepplin?
Going on about riffs(and i still think Purple had the best ones),a few months ago i bought a 60's phsycodelic 3 cd set & realised one of my favourite Purple riffs 'Black Night' was a blatantly slowed down riff 'borrowed' from a tune called 'We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet' by The Blue Magoos.Just thought i'd share that with you:theband:

Re: Black Sabbath,Deep Purple, or Led Zepplin?
Yep, I knew that as I bought the Blues Magoos record when it came out in 1967. Lots of heavy rock tunes are "recycled" from other songs. "Whole Lotta Love" is copped from "You Need Love" written by Willie Dixon and originally performed by Muddy Waters. It was the subject of a court case which Dixon won.
