Who's the best rock singer ever
 

I was channel Hopping last night and saw that "Queen in concert in Montreal" was on Sky Arts 1, I watched it and I've been thinking since who is the best rock singer ever. Think Freddie must be well up there with the best of them, he's certainly near the top of my list, his stage presence was electric. another of my favourites is Paul Rogers former front man with Free, who know actually does a lot of work with May, Taylor and Deakin. So who's your all time rock favourite

I have a very short attention span pipin:rolleyes:, if you have Sky keep your eye on Sky Arts they have some fantastic stuff on and I'm sure that Queen concert will be shown again, well worth a look

I'd go for Don Henley of Eagles fame. That's what my mood says today anyway.
I'd best stop editing now as I'll end up listing a million and one of my favourite singers.

If we were to go down the proper rock n roll route it would be Roy Orbison as no one comes close.

Well of course Elvis was fantastic but there was also Roy Orbison. He had a big range of voice and he always made it look so easy - just stood there and did it.

If it was rock - surely Bruce Springsteen is the best.

I don't really see Queen as Rock - more pop with an edge to me.

Surely it depends on your mood?
The same as other music, we can all listen to different genres and if it catches us right it is fantastic, other times it's rubbish.

An open mind with a mood that say's I'm really into this at the moment must be better than saying such, and such is the all time great?

It really is surprising how peoples music tastes differ Gayle, I've never like Springsteen, yet lots of people go made for him, don't do a thing for me

It's good that people like different things. I've never been particularly fond of Queen but I don't dislike anything that they've done - and I love This Thing Called Love.

Led Zep and Sabbath are good for some chilled out stuff. James Hetfield has got to have the best voice in metal.

Best screamer of of the last 5 years ? Despite looking like a prat Ollie Sykes is the best around at the moment for raw talent - plus he's a northern lad in a field dominated by americans. Tim Lambesis has also got one hell of voice ... nice bit of christian music :D
