Its being kicked about in Wigan to reintroduce Northern Soul nights at Wigan Pier, don't think they will ever recreate the atmosphere of all nighters at the Casino, but will be great for the younger generations to experience Northern Soul:mosher:

It might catch on ..oh no.. just had an image of myself in a tanktop no shirt..baggys and brushed up shinning brouges.. but could be worse (it could have been you) :D

Hope it works, but I agree with Jaysay...it'll probably end up being a sanitised version for tourists. You can't really recapture what it was like to be in a cavernous, run-down dancehall at 4am on a Sunday morning, with hundreds of people, spinning and backdropping and the sweat running down the walls. You just can't bring it back the way it was!

You'd be surprised at the amount of young people into the mod/northern soul scene since it graced Topman's windows. They might shine it on just enough to see what the real thing is about.
