Hope For Haiti Single

Has anyone heard this version of R.E.M's Everybody Hurts?

ITS CRAP !!!!

why oh why couldn't someone just come up with an 'original' song for this?

They have totally spoilt a damn decent song

i won't be buying it (although i have donated some money to the appeal)

they got the title of the song right.....'everybody hurts'....well my ears certainly do after listening to that

That's Simon Cowell for yah!.. in more enlightened times Cowell would have been burned at the stake for inflicting the likes of Mr Blobby and some of the other morons he's served up to mankind..:D

lol the much awaited obligatory disaster record and with no other than cowells grubby little mitts all over it.Dont tell me that puppet guy who failed to egt to number 1 at xmas isnt involved is he.The legths cowell will go to to get a number 1 lol

personally im sick to the back teeth of disaster records mainly because after that tramp geldoff and his buddys decided to feed teh world every xmas is tarnished by the most terrible song ever to get to number one which incidently has sod all to do with xmas exept for alerting us that there wont be snow in africa at xmas

if there absolutely must be a disaster record each time a little hicup occurs in another country at least keep cowell away from it

OK so they've totally butchered & tarnished a decent track (R.E.M.s Everybody hurts) & say what you will about Band Aids 1984 "Do they know it's Christmas time", it gets rolled out every year & there was even a remake with modern artists in 2004, not as good in my opinion but the thought was there.

I think there is a place for these efforts (disaster relief singles), not everyone will like them or agree but if they highlight a relevant cause, & bring in some much needed coinage why not ? but as Flashy mentioned an original effort would be better, something appropriate & relevant for that particular undertaking.

Can't understand why these so called artistes don't just write a cheque and be done with it, instead of all this malarkey

Aparrently Gordon "Su Bo" Brown phoned up Cowell and said he'd waive the VAT if Cowelly trumped up a record for Haiti!

Perhaps they should have done a version of "I felt the Earth Move!" by Carol King!

That Jays would be to easy, not being seen as an active giver & doing something for the less well off/unfortunates. Although most of them are genuine it doesn't stop some of them using it as a Photo call to boost their street cred & sense of look at me aren't I the wonderful one !! some are a tad cynical methinks.

Anyone see the documentary on Channel 4 - "Haiti's Killer Quake: Why it happened!"

It claims that probably there could be another one soon, I know it's not nice to think about it - but perhaps it's going to need a lot more than one pop record to sort this out! It will cost billions to make all the new buildings quake proof!

as far as im concerned our govenment has done more than enough for hati infact our govenment should be taking care of its own coutries problems before shoveling millions abroad

mind you knowing our soft arse lot we would probably end up re-homing teh entire hati poulation here if they had there way
