Accccccccccccid.

Can anyone remeber who performed a song called Acid, probably in 1988/89?

Popular in clubland, but I think it charted as well.

I think the only lyric was 'Accccccccccccccid', drawn out like that, and repeated over a techno beat.

Please help, it's been bugging me for ages.

They used to play it a lot at a club called the Pig Pen, and I remember dancing to it, after I'd finished my duties as a door whore.

House not techno I suppose, and I can't remember any of the other lyrics, perhaps our DJ played a mix without 'em.

That's it though Emzy, thank you xxx

The version I remembered was more like this, but I would never have found it without the spelling on the D-Mob original.

Happy days.

Up until 4.30 every Monday night, and at work four hours later, suited and booted, hopefully not still wearing a floral headress.

It was an exciting time.

I remember clubbing in London in 1985 and it was rubbish. I though at twenty my clubbing days were over.

Billy's, the Blitz, Camden Palace were long over, and then came Acid House, and my raving continued for many more years.

:D

I still can't understand why anybody in their right mind would want to put any substance in the body just for kicks, its like playing Russian Roulette with your body

It's usually low self-esteem, no confidence, and lack of imagination.

It's not playing Russian Roulette, it is if it's illegal blackmarket drugs created by criminals - which is why i believe certain drugs should be de-criminlised at least! Leglised at best!

Alcohol and tobacco kill 10s of Thousands of people per year and that's legal and endorsed by the government!

All different drugs have a different purpose - some people mainly crack and smack addicts take it for some of those reasons, family problems and so on!

All recreational drugs are taken by people who can't cope with reality, and wish to temporarily alter it.

That shows low self worth.

It's merely papering over the cracks, of an unfulfilled life.

It isn't an adequate long-term solution, for those unhappy with their lot.

High on life.

That's me.

My reality is already great.

No need to tempoarily mask it with recreational, and illegal narcotics.

It's the same reason people go on Holiday! Instead they take a drug - changes the scenery for a while! If it was legal people who wanted to try a drug would first check if they are allergic to it. ;)

If you got kids over 16 and they wanted to try drugs the problem is they will do it anyway - why let them go off and do it behind your back and possibly take something worse - why not let them do it under your guidance? I don't see the problem!

If i had a kid i would talk about drugs and educate them about it. Parents who just say "these are drugs if I catch you taking them I'll slap you!" are inviting trouble. That will just drive the kid off, to possibly take drugs behind your back. I would educate my kid about the issues!
