There's a new film coming out called Soulboy about a lad from stoke who gets the northern soul bug and starts regular trips to Wigan Casino, looks quite good

Saw it on breakfast news, looked good.

Saw an amazing play about Wigan Casino, with Sparkologist and Lettie, the other year, called Once Upon a Time.

Loved the play, and look forward to seeing the film.

Made me laugh on breakfast telly, when the female presenter said people didn't drink, so they could dance all night.

I think there may have been another reason they were able to dance all night.

Watching this, made me think the place must have stank.

That's what the holdalls were for - spare bowling shirt and socks, deodorant and mucho after shave. You smelt like a walking Brut advert after a change of clothes and freshen up in the bogs which, as you suspected were a veritable chemist's shop - blueys, bombers, green-and-clears - everything you needed for backdrops at 5am! ;)

I nearly posted Brut 33, after guessing what could have been worn then, to mask the sweat.

If you fancy seeing these dancers in action live try Rolls Royce, Barnoldswick on the monthly soul gathering on Friday, 24th September 8pm. Top local dancer Roy Speed and many others from Wigan days. Dj Roman all vinyl. Last month national dance champ Chippy turned up. Always 4th Friday.
